Irrational Impulse would like to thank the 250 people who partied with us last night. It was a perfect mix of crowd, music and positive attitude that reminded us why we loved this scene in the first place. We had a top time there and it's always great to see longlasting efforts paying off in such a style.

But this is only our view. We'd like to have your feedback and listen to your thoughts and suggestions on how to make things even better next time. Until then, a very big thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Dream on
I.I crew

To make this section a bit more interesting we will make a little competition. The best review (and by best we don't necessarily mean positive, it can by ultra-negative as long as it is well-argued) will get a free pass for our next event. So, a penny for your thoughts people.

I quite liked the crowd, sound could have been bigger, dancefloor energy flowing better and party could have lasted a bit longer. All in all it was a nice party without much anger.

Using CAPITAL LETTERS in online communities such as this forum is considered SHOUTING

Please try next time to avoid doing that. Threads with too much CAPS in the subject and/or body supposed to be edited or deleted.

Two more things on the more positive side: deco was very nice, the guy before Emok played a decent to nice progressive set and Emok though not at his best spinned a nice high quality progressive set. The staff of the You club is much nicer than the usual mafia we have to put up with. One thing, though, is that to my opinion many people expected to hear something different than progressive psychedelic and the vibe was building up later on. At the beginning there was lots of people starring and feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

P.S. It is also very good that you care about feedback and do not cheet. Although progressive psychedelic is not my high I wish you good luck with your next events.

What kind of party was this? This reminded me of some kind of house party with loads of people on e who would dance to me playing a guitar . And what i didnt understand is how can the people turn their back on the dj? Isnt that rude?

After Emok i had so much energy built in me cause i simply couldnt dance to his music, so Xavier discharged my batteries he was amazing untill they stoped him, vitrine u suck, i paid 25 euros i demand more than what u gave me.

ps: G+ and II must understand that psy trance requires more sound power. Psy trance is a drug and it is amplified by quality and volume, u dont give us these and u make the crowd looking for other drugs!

Hello again.

Thanks for the nice words. Just wanted to clarify a couple of things. Metropolis was meant to be a psygressive night. We booked Emok, co-owner of Iboga, to play a good progressive set which is his style anyway. We thought that his presence in the line up would clearly signify the style of music that would be played at the party.

I do agree with andonis about the staff of You club. They were very discrete and cooperative and as far as i can tell they enjoyed themselves too. Of course there was always anxiety regarding drug use but things did not get out of hand so, thankfully, we didnt get to see their negative side!!!

The guy b4 Emok was Vasilis, our resident DJ and one of the 3 organisers. He was also responsible for most of the deco. It's a pity that my position as a co-organiser would make my comments on his music to seem like a blatant promotion so i am going to skip on that point.

Finally, this was the first time we went to this club and we wanted to take into consideration the owner's wishes and suggestions. They felt that continuing the party could invite unwanted attention so we jointly decided to wrap things up at 7. That said i personally think that it's better to end a club party when there's still energy left rather that leaving it to degenerate into a drug-taking bonanza. I am not assuming of course that whoever stays late at parties uses drugs but u may have noticed that drug taking is much more apparent (and thus distasteful) towards the closing stages of a party.

That's all for now. Keep those comments comin

Hey pano

Just happened to see your comments so i hope you dont mind me debating them a bit. I personally dont think that the only way to enjoy a trance party is by looking directly at the dj. The DJ is not a singer, not a dancer, he is not performing, he is just playing music!!! Simple as that. Of course you can judge the quality of mixing and the quality of the music itself but since this is all an acoustic process i guess you can do that without necessarily looking at the DJ.

Besides i think there is no need to treat DJ's as rock stars. They are an important part of the party, for some the most important, but we shouldn't confuse the DJ with the music. It is this confusion, i think, that has made every other person who ever set a foot on a trance party to call themselves a DJ. And i think this is something that the scene has suffered from.

I can also confirm in the strongest terms that Emok really enjoyed his set at You so if at some point you turned your back on him he won't hold it against you... (This is humour but i dont know how to use the icons lol)

Also imho the party scene in our country was destroyed because people forgot what it was all about in the first place. From a social situation against a background of innovative music where people could simply and unpretentiously have fun in comfortable and colourful venues, parties became a platform for some to parade their insecurities in every possible shape and form.

Thus we started to see at parties people who all of a sudden became music experts as if they had graduated from sound engineering university courses, people who uncovered every reasonable and unreasonable New Age b**shit to prove to themselves and to others that they are a special breed just because they listened to trance music and people who thought that trance parties are "underground" and started to behave accordingly as if they were attending a football game. What we increasingly have not been seeing is people having fun.

I think its time to leave the stereotypes out of it. Don't mean to be personal but next time please go to a party with a more open mind and try to have fun without worrying too much if it looks like a "house party". I mean... what if it does???

If you don't like this style of music and generally the atmosphere there, don't take part again next time..We need people who are more openminded and willing to broaden their musical horizons..i want to see only happy smiles and faces to the parties receiving positive energy. In my opinion it's stupid to characterize a party as "bullshit" just because it's house! Hey! Try to feel the magic power of MUSIC without putting tags !
keep the vibe alive IRRATIONAL IMPULSE !           Music may not take us to the Moon or let us live forever, but as we enter trough the doors it is opening before us, we find things far beyond our everyday experiences..

P.S: a big hello to long-time-no-see friends..Steve,Aris,Tasos and Kali..c u soon again i hope!!           For me there is only the traveling on the paths that have a heart, on any path that may have a heart. There I travel, and the only worthwhile challenge for me is to traverse its full length. And there I travel--looking, looking, breathlessly...
