hi there,
it's just an idea in mind for now, but might become concrete by the time.
the idea is to organise international workshops for people who want to stay some days with artists, with proper studio setups, sharing knowledges, spend time working with all the tools, learn music production and so on.
at the moment, we do it in switzerland since 3 years. we rent a nice house in a quiet place where we can make all noise we want, there are 3 studios and about 10-15 producers of all levels working together on projects.
we experimented very nice actions till now, and i really ask myself to organize it in a larger way, involving international artists as "teacher", but also as friends, make contact, have fun and share everything about music making, music ideas...
in the facts, people who would like to participate should at least know the basic knowledges in using informatic and music production tools, then all level producers are welcome.
the people should come by their own close to the location, then we could organise people to pick them up and take them to the place.
then everyone would have to pay to share all needed costs (rent of the place, food...)
it's close to become real, i just share the idea to see what you guys think about, to see the interest it mights generate, and if you know such action which take place already somewhere, would be nice to hear about.
i heard some things already, but just few words.
also, we are working close with party organisations, and it's fully possible to make kind of "the people coming to the workshop session showing a nice potential, could take place in an event organized after the session".. or something.
... as well as involving labels, offering to the label managers to find new talents and offering to the upcoming artists the possibility to be in closer contacts with labels to release their works.

I've tried organizng something like this in my area, but it never got off the ground because I couldn't find enough people to commit to it. However, it's a wonderful idea, and you've reminded me to give it another go sometime.....

sounds interesting, reminds me of the scene parties (demo-, intro coding etc.). where have you been doing this in switzerland until now? i have never heard of it even though i live in CH 
there is definitely enough producers scene around the world, such workshops can be well supported internationally as well, i think (local knowledge of places, producers, ppl with equipment, interested ppl and helpers etc).
probably a site with a little forum should be set up, to concentrate all efforts and news?
best, i'll keep myself informed.

thanks for the replies and you positive agreement for it.
so, anyway it's going to take place, like the previews editions.
if someone is interested to be a part of it, you can simply drop me some lines.
even if it takes place in a larger way, the number of slots will be quiet limited, coz of bed/room space and because we don't really want to make school/classes style.
so, everyone can have his time using the studios and give his part to the project.
here is the place for the next session (like the last one) and the main studio, living room style.

we made it in the region of Bulle last year, and first year in wallis. still there was no promotion at all about it, it stayed between friends only.
this year might be just a bit more openned, and if it gives motivation up, we could go further. |

hey ...
so, things are showing up in a pretty nice way.
martin from naked tourist will be the guest involved in this project for the next session.
now it's just a matter of logistic things, in couple of days i'll be able to reply to people and say more details about.
so, as this first experience will still take place for a small edition, i could say there are something like 10 free slots for full motivated people to join.
so, in case of full interest, i suggest you to be quick to send a request to be a part of it.
i want to thanks martin for his interest and support about this idea, also patty from chill in berlin who helped me to go further with this project.
thanks also to the crew in switzerland who is involved since the preview editions.

the place looks very inspiring...and so many psy artists coming together can create bomber tracks..
