The old are becoming older the younger generation hasn't seen what the haydays were like. people at psy parties just sway no digging. since its all vibe , even a single person can infect the dance floor but even that doesn't seem to be coming along. call it lack of enough parties or no quality music. gone are the days of wild partying and feeling carefree thanks to greater vigilance and awareness about trance and drugs. the younger generation is too much into black shawarma and vocal trance.

where has the passion of crazy raw psychedelic gone? like ocelot said , has it become too simple?

dark psy has actually lost its edge. full on is perceived as cheesy. too much negativity? what is it actually?           missing plug-in

In India, all the quality local artists who everyone wants to see don't or rarely perform: Silent Horror, Alien Mental, Schizoshire, Detonatik.

It is picking up BIG TIME now I honestly feel that in the next 1-2 years time, Psytrance will be a commercially recognised genre (keeping its roots underground)

Its my opinion anyways....

agree with you 100%, but as long as people like you and me are there in the scene, dont u think we can still keep most parts of it underground. i dont wanna lose the good old goa days i grew up with and i would want ppl to have atleast something close to that in the future too...           ~~Co-Creator of A Ritual~~

I truly disagree....

yes party are totally off the scene..

but i must say the music production in 2009 was way better then 2007, 2008..

less cheesy stuff...loads of dark albums and some real good tunes coming out...great new comers...from arnd the scene...

progressive scene went top knotch....and so did the full on...

even goa genre came up strong..

good to see astral projection rolling out killer tracks...           Dj Atatri

Today here and now!. If we are still denying there is a dillution of psy music, psy culture and the vibe we're simply lying to ourseleves.

+1. Orgs if you guys are watching we 've had our share of Skazi, GMS, Infected mushrooms and the likes (With all respect to the above artits) we need minimal gigs with underground artists. I realize it commercially very difficult to get an underground international artist but there is no lack of great musical talent in the indian underground psy scene.

I really hope it picks up big time with more quality serious dancefloor music comming out and that we the fans and lovers of psy music get to gether more often and in peace and without any fear. Well about psy trance being a commercially recognised genre well it already is quite sometime back, hell Ten Sports used to use a Astrix track to background music to their Top 5 Goals of the week snippet back in 2006, now thats what i call commercial recognition and feel that the dillution of the scene kind started of around then.

Maybe the tolerences to em have increased . But that apart the energy is within us in our hearts and minds. If there are artists that wanna hold on to the roots and make psy music which is new and fresh but nevertheless not wavering from the psy trance standards and there are us the fans how go to parties purelly to enjoi the music and forget about "being seen" and "being Cool" a new explosion in psy music and psy culture is not too far away. Just to bring in an anology with another genre of music Megadeth and Iron Maiden have stuck to the their roots of Heavy Metal standards and there are a legion of Fans still following them and keeping Metal in it's true for alive. Inspite of Heavy Metal music going through so many changes and new forms and new philoshopies.

In Trance we Trust!
