Information about a crap organisation: "MASCALIN PRO" - Israel

I was invited to play in Israel on the 3rd of december at a party named "FREE SPIRIT GATHERING" for "MASCALIN PRO" organisation to present our new Digital Talk Album and things got quite hectic with the promoter called "AMNON KADAR".
I felt i needed to warn everybody about his disrespectfull and stupid behaviour in order to prevent him doing this again to other artists and also to the people paying to enter his fake parties, let me explain what happend in details.
I arrive from France on the 3rd of december around 5 am at Tel Aviv airport, the organiser comes to pick me up and starts to tell me that the party will be a blast, that he sold already 500 presales tickets and paid the cops so the party can happen properly, he was supposed to bring me to an hotel straight that was already booked for 1 week from his own words, he told me it was too early to check in and brought me to one of his friend's house instead (we will call this friend "X"), then he told me he will bring me to the hotel after my set at the party.
The party was on the same day around 20 km from Tel Aviv, i arrive there at 4.30 am, the place is well packed, around 700 people dancing and enjoying, i was supposed to play at 7 am but at 5.30 am some israeli cops arrive and bust the party, from this moment everybody spread around and the organiser run away, fortunatly i am with some friends and i can go back at X's place in Tel Aviv.
The day after, no news from the organiser, the day after still no news, then in the night he sends a message to X telling him he will come to meet me the day after in the morning to bring me the money. In the morning he is not coming, then i start to call him few times, send sms but no replies.
So basically i was in X place since 3 days without any news from the promoter, no bed to sleep no hotel booked, no money from my fee and neither to eat...
In the evening im heading to a club party to play a set for another organisation, then "Amnon Kadar" shows up, first he starts to apologize saying he had lots of troubles but doesnt explain his lack of responsability, then he says he cannot book me an hotel and prefers to keep the money to pay me, he gives me 20% of my fee and tells me: "dont worry my friend i will bring you the rest of the money tomorrow for sure".
The day after im going to a friend's place to spend the rest of my trip, obviously the organiser never shows up, 3 days pass and i spend all my phone credit trying to contact him... i hear he disappeared from his house, then i understand from other dj's that he didnt pay any artists who played at his party and kept the money from the entrances.
On the last night still no news, then i book my own taxi to Tel Aviv airport.
Since i came back to France i've tried many ways to contact him and gave him a chance to make things right but apparently he doesnt even dare speaking to me and keeps being very active everyday on his facebook wall...
After coming for the 20th time to play in Israel i've never experienced so much disrespect, please don't support anymore "MASCALIN PRO" organisation or any organisation hold by "AMNON KADAR".
I send my respect to all the israeli party people and the other organisations i played for in the past, i always enjoyed coming to play in israel and always had good times there, i hope this thread can make things better for the future.

this is a sad story man..Good that you describe it here imo.
I have read that often about such combination/manipulation from organizers in the psytrance scene this is really low bad.

Had a similar experience years back with Eyal Barkan (A pity there was no forum to warn artists against him at that time). Also in quite a few other countries too. Its a real shame this goes on especially considering artists travel many miles, use a lot of time, goes through stress in airports (especially in Israel with the extensive security 3rd degree questioning) just to be Scre*ed over. But I see no solution to this kind of scams.Sadly.

The exact thing happend to me in 2004, the hole story is a copy of what happend to me and a friend there. 'Digger Records' was the name of that crew then. I swear its the same guy, haven't heard a thing about them sence that day.

Sorry for your part , however i just wanted to say that i always have liked your stuff very much.Digital talk is very great and the Mindcore project that you are involved in is extremely good to.Very intelligent and deep music with new ideas and ways of creating sound in the music that you have been creating.
Looking forward to hear more from you.

Yea fortunatly its very easy to denounce this type of abuse nowadays but apparently its doesnt prevent scammers to be active...

Yea thats usually how we do but this was organised in a rush and i already played for him 9 months ago so i naively trusted him, it was also my mistake in a way. |

Hey Julien as u know i was suposed to play in the same party , thankfully somehow my passport was not valid for israel so with some pitty and shame i didn't go , but in the end im glad that i didn't , im really sorry that it happen to you , and i take your words as mine , when you say that u expected much more respect and care from a promoter specially after some much times playing in israel and with a huge reputation downthere , i already got fu**ed a couple of times by israelis .... totally respect the ones that in the past made my stay and party worthy , but don't really understand how things can go so wrong when your playing a fair game , anyway bro ....now u know!

With all due respect to the poster and people that got screwed here, this happens very often and is not bound to Israel only. And therefor also a really bad and unlogical reason not to go to israel imho.
There is assholes everywhere and lots of other things in the world that are a million times sadder than this.
Nonetheless I hope things work out well for all people involved here. Another lesson to ask for money upfront in stead of on the party!

Hmm for sure its a sad story but u sound very sentimental  ... i think similar things happened to most artist and not only in Israel ...
I've been to Israel many times and never had any troubles ... i think thats not the fault of the Country ...its the fault of a promoter ... so please stop blame israel for that ...blame maskalin pro ....

What if i go to Israel and i meet bad people who live there? Im affraid. It is too dangerous to come to Israel. Imagine that you come to Israel and you enter bank or withdraw cash from ATM and you see information: dont worry my friend i will bring you the rest of the money tomorrow for sure. It is really sad. |
