I have friends that go to this massive every year who have tried to get me to go. I love psytrance and outdoor parties way too much to waste my time at another rave (I've been far too many). I saw IM at the house of blues...and I'm not into their new stuff as much.
Unfortunately I am not going to burning man, and this party could never be the substitution for that.

(A little cross-thread promotion - hope I don't get banned for this)

anyone in the area who can't make Burning Man and doesn't want to go to Nocturnal should come to Tempe and get your psy-fix at Aura.

If we weren't doing this, I'd probably go to Nocturnal. The rave kids here in AZ are pretty harmless. Just throw something day-glo at them. Plus, I've never seen IM, and would love to (new, old, I don't care - as long as it's danceable).

Sorry to dig up such an archaic thread.

but....

DAMIEN (hazzy) LOVES TO GET MAN-HANDLED?!?!?!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA PRICELESS

I was doing some fossil research and came across that little gem and just had to bring it up.

You queer. I love ya.

And while I'm here... I will mention... Infected did do a pretty shnazzy job @ that party and Ill admit that I went to EDC too that year and they rockd it then too. Ill also admit that I look forward to their new album... They've turned pop but so what, they were a *huge* part of Psy culture @ the turn of the cent, possibly even a focal point.

p.s. candy ravers scare me too. but not as much as e-tards. zoikes.

kthxbuhbye

candy kids rule THEY SHED THERE EGOS as soon as they put all that "stuff" that they put on . id rather be in a party full of 1000 candy ravers rather then a party with a bunch of psytrancers who think that they are just a little bit better than everyone else because they are wearing an om shirt or some spacetribe britches, and claim to be intune with a superior consciousness. i took my younger brother to a party with me a few times he pointed out to me how alot of my own friends would react to him when he introduced himself i watched several differnt times friends of mine act like he was bacteria pretty sad . oh well no harm done he wasnt hurt by this but the way i look at some folks has changed , but who the hell am i to keep ideas about people / THE PICKLED RADISH THATS WHO MANG!

Wow great post Takuan.

So true.

Then again I dont know everyone... and I definitely dont want to know everyone... (Orginally I did, and I cared what people thought about me then too... now i could give less... ok fine well not as much now then)

We all have our biases one way or another. But there are wayyyyyy too many books being read by their cover in the SF psyscene... And this is an understatement. I'm glad you brought this up B.

Personally I think your brother is great. I remember meeting him spontaeneously @ Lovefest near the Tantra Bus with his shredded arm and his dog-in-heat... then again @ Mirnaya and then once more @ Phantasmagoria_Halloween. It's a shame he stopped coming out to party just because of what a few individuals expressed... either by looks or actual confrontation and words

Forget them bro. Come out and dance! enjoy the scene for what it is... and what good vibes there are to be had(there are plenty too)... and the wonderful people that are there too.

As for the candy kids....

Most of them scare the 5h1t out of me just because I used to be one.... not hardcore 100+ bracelets and there teenie bopper backpacks they bought at Zumiez and Pac-Sun and Hottopic and wherever else they find those awful teletubbie spongebob chuckie finster dora the 4//41 explorer miniature backpacks...

I dont like them just because of what they wear either. From my experience in the rave scene (a little under a solid year) a good portion of kid ravers are jaded, superficial, selfish, and just plain screwed up.

Not that I'm perfect of course. But atleast I'm aware and I'm open to change from within...

On second glance.

Those mini backpacks are hawt.

I think every psytrancer should have one.

but with tribal insignias and zodiac signs....

LOL

total sarcasm.....
