anyone has taken a look into this forum the last days? we have threads like "kill fullon forever", "blame all the frustration on the labels", "fake scene", and many topics about artists going commercial, and othe funny ones where artists are making parodies about the commercial ones. we have many threads where many people are frustrated by the music which is released today, music without soul. and other threads where artists and a&rs say that its completely useless to run a label anymore.
trance-people say there is no idea or innovation, and type " ... they are all copycats" into their keyboard while browsing with a second window on a pc-webshop to get theirselfes a new harddisc for the p2p-files.
on a party you see people full of drugs, dancing to 150 bpm the hell out of it, before they fall into their tent like a wet flannel, the sweat around them smells different and ratty. its the smell of the amphetamine-cocktail tried to beeing washed out of the intoxicated body. there is no philosophical talk in the chai to a relaxed chillum and maybe some nice hawaians. sometimes i think it all has become just a big manufactory for substances, an armee of goon people fatted with drugs, designed to be comsumers, buyers, money maschines for someone else. some of them want to use you, some of them want to get used by you.
what is trance? what is trance?
are you satisfied with that what trance is? are you satiesfied with your music, our parties, the way we are together on a gathering? all sharing? all knowing each other even if they dont know?
it is in our hands to make it how we like it, no one is making it for us. we had some influences in our scene, people trying to destroy it for personal interest. and it seems they succeed.
if - you - me - everyone - is trying to give only 1% of his own part to make this scene better we would allready make a very big step into the right direction.
ask what you can do better for others, dont ask what others can make better fo you. years ago this scene was unique, trancers understood the connection of all beeings. that everything is together and that everything sent out is going be send back to you again. stand up, and do what you can until this game is finally done!

but: psst, most of the guys enjoy what they're doing so it's what THEY want. we (you and me and a handful of others) live in the past... and nothing is permanent.
be patient and the tide will turn again and again. the question is will you be persistant enough to be around and witness it

Yes, I agree with all you write and I have the same feelings about all this as well.
I think, to be fair to all, we should not be talking about "one scene", but rather accept that there are many scenes which together cover a unified market segment of people wanting to party 24/7.
Still, like you say, it is what you make it - you control your part, I control mine.
Its very childish just to complain all the time, when not trying to do anything yourself. In a way, its more or less often the product thats at fault. As such, people just enter the role of the disgruntled consumer... If thats the way they relate to it, why do they expect the commercial elements "parties" "labels" etc to be any different ?
So, people have to work at it together, and not expect organizers, artists and so forth to be able to make it work only by creating parties and music.
For a trance party to work, it needs to be interactive. In order for it to be interactive, people need to take part in it. If they dont, it wont work, and whatever is left is meaningless..
Its a sad fact, but the more meaningless something is, the more drugs people use to give it meaning. Doesnt matter of its one or the other type of chemical here.
Another sad fact is, of the masses of people at festivals, only a small fraction engage in a truely psychedelic lifestyle & mindset.
Most really just seem to be there to party and do drugs.... thats where it all goes sour.
Btw, wasnt that what happened to the hippie movement in the first place ? Its just history repeating itself.

Thats exactly what happened and yes, history is repeating itself, not on that wide scale like in the 60's-70's, but still.
I dont see a solution to this, at least on larger scale. If someone goes out there preaching how people should be in parties i can imagine what majority will think of that: "Hey man, loosen that rim around your head and shut up, period.".
Now this scene is heading forwards, again in the same way as hippie movement did, and there are fragmented groups calling for return to old good times, but majority still plunges head forwards towards the decline of the psychedelic trance scene. |

I must agree with Kitnam about the drug issue.
Personally its makes me sad to see ppl who comes to a Trance party, and search desperately for drugs like they searching for a rescue boat in a sinking ship. There was not even one party in my life, were I wasn't asked at list 5 times if I can help them with this rescue boat. And I never have 'boats' and my smiles are always natural and never chemical.
It's sad because many ppl see Trance as a drug culture and not as a MUSIC culture.

Anyway .. I dont find any connection to this party ..
or other Drugs can be smoken or taken in any other
place ... We all know that in a partys is a small and a
little percents of the all whats happening in the all in
this big world . I think better asking with the music
and not with this marginal detail and even not make
any connection to , Things like that happend every
where .. Peoples ask me ones in amsterdam if i got
some drugs for them , So .. , Its can happen in any
place on earth , Always have an minority . lets dont
put the all eggs in the same basket ! . Thx .

i say, lets just ditch this crap about giving to people, no free parties, no nothing, people dont come to give other people anything, only joy for them selfs.. in most of the cases, if someone decide to give they soon notice they dont get anything back...
i say lets ruin this planet, lets just waste it.. all of us that thought there could be a change, just lose that thought, become what you despise...
lets make commercial music, lets make as much money as we can... why care about all those bitches that say, "ohh its soo shit" "all the artists sound the same" "it costs too much" "its just a bunch of junkies" lets make their words come true.... why fight for better, its no use, everybody is on one big fucking EGO Trip... lets just realise that and focus on our own ego trip...
why lead when nobody wants to follow... why waste your energy? is it worth it? will it make a change?
hmm naa... its not worth it, its gone to far with the world and all this macdonalds bullshit,
soon chaos will be spread like a infectious disease.. the world is dying and all we do making it go faster, jump on that train and ride it... dont fight it even if it feels right... go with the flow... over consume... lets the rich bastards become richer, help them destroy all thats left, build more factorys, dump trash everywhere.... just do it!
