July 1 - 4th, Crystal Creek, Sunshine Coast, B.C. - Canada

This was a truly GREAT festival, with highest-quality music from start to finish. Well worth an international visit for the vibe, people, *music* and location. Make your plans for NEXT YEAR!

p.s. Watch out for Shulman's new material...!!! He is a true psychedelic serial killer, and is really pushing the boundaries with atmospheric Psy-IDM from planet Pluto!!! Holy guacamole!!!!

Lucas,

there were two stages... one was chillout...
and also a 'main stage' with Antix and others some extremely psychedelic progressive and tribal beats.

A great flow!!!! it was just -packed- with good music - too good to be true. Some highlights:

- Bluetech's 120 bpm progressive stuff. HOT!

- We heard several tracks of the new Kaya Project album- due out on Interchill in the fall. I thought it sounded tribal, melodic, lush - their new sound is not the least bit dissapointing!!

- Steve Ronin playing the new Left Coast Liquid CD on Native State Records...really
boundary pushing stuff from Shulman, Phutureprimitive, Shen and Bluetech... exterme & atmospheric PsyDM - truly different than your garden variety psy-chill

- a mercilessly WICKED tribal DJ set from Osiris Indriya (Oracle Gatherings http://www.osirisindriya.com/ ) - one of the most spellbinding crowd/performer synergies I ever saw. A true magician - not just a figure of speech.

- Adham Shaikh playing live accompanied by
classical indian musicians and bellydancers. Including a morning extended "Dubfire" jam with Bluetech on keyboards!!

- A twilight set from B.C. producer Noah Phred a.k.a. Shen. Popped the cork on the morning sunrise with absolute PERFECTION.

- far, far, *far* out arabian/atmospheric/ lysrgic IDM from Shulman with odd beats and time signatures... I didn't "get it" when I saw him the weekend before, but I soaked it in deep this time!

- Anahata LIVE was very pretty and glassine.

- dope liquid beats and metalic termite grooves from Hayden of Antix.

Anyways... i guess you can tell, I just LOVED it and will be going back next year. Hope to see you there.

Well, the pictures are incredible, they pass a very happy energie...a pitty my country is not "musically prepared" for an experience like that.

For sure i'll make an effort to go next year.

Wow....I really enjoyed these pictures, Brett. Looks like it was quite a time up there.

Also interesting to finally see some faces on the mysterious ambientartists that I know of.

How very kind of you to share this experience...
