Look what is happening in Germany, where almost every party nowadays has got the permissions: police is waiting for you at the entrance and is checking people arriving or leaving the partysite for 2-3 days after the main event.
Like this for some people the fun ends before the party has even started, for others it all ends in a nightmare.
It's mainly true, that it is not the party as such, but the substances being consumed, wich are illegal, but even without the drugissue it is true, like mentioned earlier, that is it almost impossible to make an uncommercial+legal party, because of all the demands for security (bouncers, first aid..) and other rules and regulations, which raise the costs for a party in such a way, that it becomes difficult to make them for free.
And anyway, the whole feeling of the party changes when you have police, fences and security people around.
Somewhere else in the forum somebody was asking "do we really need 4000 people festivals?". Yes we do! When there is a sun-eclipse or NewYear or something else 'big' to celebrate. And indeed then we need permits and fullfill certain obligations, like any other commercial festival.
That's why small parties, which don't submitt to the legal demands are much more fun! |

Drugs are not the problem, the problem is that some persons think they can decide what other should do and not do. And people who WANT others to make decisions for them (there's a lot of these in Sweden).
Laws is to prevent people from hurting each other... nothing else. Ut ameris, amabilis esto. |

Do drugs harm health ?
Do drugs create society which not go by rules , anarchy in other words ?
Do parties legal from tax law point of view ?
Do parties legal from security / health point of view ?
who decide what ??? mate noone take your freedom of speech/will or whatever you like
but you can't talk like that only because you brake rules and do opposite of what laws say .......
Okay let say in Sweden ruled new law that you can use drugs ..............
1. will you like that whole your country will smoke dope lilke in holland
2.will you like that 50% of country will be forgeiners who will rob , kill and beat to get money for drugs or to sell the drugs
3.will you like that most of country will go to open air parties because it's legal and no more 100ppl parties

Think of mafia, bad people.
And drugs are always coming from mafia (ok not the dope in your garden). And so there are always problems with that guys.

tht is v difficult (here in india) to convince the cops tht trance music is not illegal
they so strongly associate this music with the D's tht the local cops now have an impression tht this music itself is illegal. wherever this music plays has to be raided.

you guys are to obsessed with drugs. organising a legal party is a completely different thing than organising a 100% certified drug free party.
Today drugs are present in every party scene, be it trance, house, techno, folk or the local church choir. This is not a specific property of psytrance parties at all. just look at any well known rock artists, (even in your parents favorite cd's, even in the police's fav. cd's).
The only reason police check on partypeople is to find the dealers. they don't care about little people that smoke a joint (this doesn't guarantee they'll let you go if they do find something!)
organising legal parties in belgium means:
-have a contract with the landowner
-paying copyright (sabam -alike acum-) between 2 and 500 euro's depending on size of your event
-having at least two certified security staff (40 euro per person/hour)
-having permits from the city to play louder than 80db
-having a special permit if the event is not indoor or in a tent (and acoustic research has to be positive)
-having permits to play longer than normal closing time (impossible to get for a small/normal party...)
-having permits to sell beer, and a seperate one for strong drinks
-pay taxes on your dj's/acts/crew's fee's.
-pay taxes on your revenue if you organise more than 1 event a year
this list goes on and on...
so stop argueing about 2 police cars outside your building checking the party people. they should be prepared for that and cautious about what they decide to bring to the party. it's the organisers indirect responsibility to keep large amounts of drugs out of the party place. anything that is being used openly is your direct responsibility and you as an organiser can be sent to jail for this.

cyber kiddies.. drugs.. the harsh reality, i think, does not, and will never help the trance scene.. for the reputation that this scene already has... in every aspect, with drugs at the top of the bad reputations list, next to people who exploit the users..
To go about clearing this scene of this drug related "mythological" way from the outside seeing, it is better left outside the da ta base..
i feel silly now..
