and yuli - after all this time is the trance scene I would think you would stop expecting an underground, illigal and totaly crazy scene to be "proffesional".... you were not booked to play a club with air conditioning and an office for crying out loud...

G

Guy I do believe that what you say is your own problem that you and the likes created. The fact that you gave that lame excuse, shows that even better. If artists and DJs would stand for themselves and not be part of this "swamp combina" thing ( starting with ridiculously low fees for gigs for example ), this wouldn't happen at all. About the air conditioned clubs, my friend, it's an unapropriate remark, which tries to imply that maybe the piss went up my head ( IT SURELY DID NOT ) - I been there done that, and lost money in the parties and in the heat and in the dust. And even when I LOST, I managed to behave differently.

The fact the parties are underground, doesn't give a production the right to behave that way. Because in the same breath, since the parties are underground, I can forget my case and headphones at home and it's ok right?... Somehow the artists / DJ are still expected to be professional as it comes to their performance.

btw...

*** I still wait for that phonecall... we can be sure everyone well rested now, it's tuesday ***

Or it is also that "underground" thing that Guy Shanti mentioned?           http://perfectlystrange.com

I'm sorry but i also don't see the connection between outdoor parties and quality or responsibility.

my point of view was always for better security, ambulance at the location, reasonable drive, sound, decoration and quality artists.

like Yuli said, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. if you don't have money in you bank account for worst case scenario, why the hell do you make a party ? maybe you think "it won't happen to me" or "cross that bridge when i get there". guess what, shit happens. you have got to be prepared, otherwise it is only (ONLY) the organizer fault. not the cops for doing their job, not other productions for taking your crowd, not the rain or storm, not bad people filling your party, and not a scorpion who bites one your (again, YOUR) guests in the party you created.

Mind you, i don't remember canceling any of the gigs, or not paying the artists when 100 or so people came to my Dakini party with Peter Didjital. I was the one who was bank roped over my failure. I fell hard but i was prepared for it. (btw, i also had a rule against playing at my parties, its a bad idea mixing your objectives).

I am sorry for this "we are lesser and thus we have different, more elastic rules" state of mind. i think its what makes me go to so few parties. I don't think i have to apologize for having high standards. and no, it does not make me a "primadona".

lets think about it the other way around. maybe next time we are booked for this b2b set in a nature party we should say "eh, its only a nature party" and we won't put all the extra work we did the week before.
we won't make the loops, we won't work together on our hand signals or transitions, and we will come and let you all hear how our first session went. (bad and cacophonic).

responsibility and maturity are not found only in clubs. they are found in serious people who take what they do seriously. be it music, parties or synthesizers. today is Tuesday, do you really think we would be so angry if we got a call by today ?

time to clarify few things.
1st- avishay- no one cancelled you.
we canclled yuli since he never left his house in the south at 7 am in the morning, while you were already in the north.
deeply apologize for the missunderstanding, we planned that you will finish the job by yourself.

2nd- 39 degrees in the shadow, everyone around is on drungs, and not fully aware of his condition, already in 8 we knew , there is no possible way to keep this event runing after 1 pm in such terrible hit.

now for Yuli, why the hell do you think we are hiding from you??

-have you ever bothered to think we have ton's of arrangments even after the event?

-plz dont call your self an orginaizer, u made 2 events, both faild and after some years now, it's about damn time you will stop complaning about it.

-for day one we started to make parties we have always kept our payments to anyone we ever worked with, INCLUDING YOU.

-we could call you already sunday evening when we got back to life after a very long sleep, BUT, to wake up and see so much dissrespect from an artists we booked almost to every event we made in the last few years, held us back, since we cant even describe how much you made us sick of you.

we could sum things very nicely indeed like always, but you chose the other way, the way that will never get you booked in our parties ever again.. (and trust me mate, time will tell but i can promise you it's all your lost)

as for the crorwd here, even if you made some parties before, you cannot caculate how much money we lost here, but it's not a big secret anyway, so i can tell you we lost enough that we cant make more parties this year.
and that is the difference avishai, when you have a study crowd over one time event like dakini. when we fall so hard everyone lose, DJ'S, ATRISTS, and most important the crowd, that wont be able to enjoy our work until we recover.

so what i'm saying here, is that even when things go wrong, we still think of crowd best first, otherwize we werent making those parties for the first place.

about the party, soon, after full recovery..           Bottom Line Presents

Yuli and Avishay - I love you guys but I have 2 words for you:

Yalla Yalla

shit happens - if you dont want shit to happen to you so dont go to the toilet

man just cuz you are a few years older and starting to get used to some "standards", dont mean that police will stop busting parties. Just cuz you play festivals it dont mean that underground illigal parties stop to exist. Just cuz you dont like it anymore it dont mean it stopped being fun. and a big part of the fun is the uncertainty of it all.

This scene was ALWAYS fucked. unproffesional and totaly bonkers. and a lot of fun

Yuli, Asi, Avishay, Shanti

I love you all but I think that this argument should not be a part of this forum.

And not just you, I don't like to read in this forum all the garbage behind the beautiful parties, so please try to leave it out of here.

With a lot of respect.

we need to let some steam out once in a while... and you dont have to read... this is a free country.

and not all the parties are good
and not all the parties are beautifull
not all the DJs know what they are doing

but the bottom line is that if ALL parties and ALL djs and ALL WHATEVER was good - nothing would be good

what i like about this scene is that usualy you dont know what will happen. I like to be pleasantly surprised

expect less - enjoy more

Well since we are washing the dirty laundry here, then lets go to the facts I didn't metion before and I will answer you Asi here, instead of doing that over the phone, when I tried to call you thru Saturday and Sunday but something prevented you from answering ( and that wasn't my response here, since it was done later on.

WRONG dear Asi. I was still at home because ppl that came to hear us already @ 2AM called me to say the party is closed, and cops all over. So naturally, after trying to call you few times I waited @ home, to a phone that rang only 4 hours later.

That is a fact backed up by trustworthy people - you decide if it was up to you to contact to your artists first thing and see for a solution.

And all this was before I was proved a total shit of a person writing to you here.. no? Why did you plan it this way Asi?...

If you would read my previous posts, I have shown clearly that if everything would go as planned we would play @ 10:30 - 11:00 no problem about that. After promoting the event with our names @ that spot this is the minimum you owe to the party people that paid good money to see us perform.

Because if I were you I would call the artist I cancelled ( by mistake yes ) and apologize and that would finish the whole story, and I would do it straight after the party has finished. That is part of your job man, as it is nice to put our names on the flyer, it's not convenient, but you must do it.

Sure and part of it is calling your cancelled artists.

Hehe actually both parties I did in the nature ( not including the hat one in the desert ) were great success. I will use the search and post the links to those parties from this very forum, to refresh your memory. Both were very very good but as we made good money on the first one, we lost it on the second one, no one is bitching about it - ITS LIFE, you win some you loose some - but ALWAYS keeping up to my word to all the people I have booked or did business with.

True, never complained did I?.. And the fiasco of the previous it was me that refused to get money so you can overcome.. You probably don't remember that do you

EASE DOWN GUYS !!!

Take a deep breath, solve it on the phone or face to face...

Dont make it more dirty than what it is now, PLEASE!!!

Both sides well known on the partys scene, Some as Dj's and some as Producers, i know the situation is pretty tight but try to keep it calm.

Personally i dont think is the place for sparring.

I wish u all good week, b0m.

I'm afraid I have to agree.

Yuli is pathetic for being one of the very few established artists that still come here and spend time conversing with the people who listen and dance to his music and not only promote himself every now and then.

Yuli is pathetic for trying to make things better and spending time writing in length about it in the forum.

Yuli is pathetic for really trying to be part of this scene and not just milking it for money.

Yuli is pathetic for actually caring about his gigs, trying to innovate and do something better and new for his crowd, and being disappointed if they get canceled. Better just do a pre-recorded laptop set, no?

Yuli is pathetic for keeping playing for the small local underground parties for cheap fees long after he made it big overseas.

Yuli is pathetic for trying to make this scene better by expecting a higher standard that will make everyone enjoy themselves more (apart from Shanti who will have nothing to bitch about and will be very miserable indeed).

Yuli is pathetic for paying all his debts always, even when he's lost money.

Yuli is pathetic for expecting others to do the same.

Yuli is pathetic for giving up on his fee so many times when organizations had a bad luck even when he was practically broke.

Yuli is pathetic for caring for his fans who paid money to come and hear him play.

Yuli is pathetic for sharing a thread with someone like you. That makes me pathetic as well. And at our age... tststs... we must be hippies....

and i am pathetic as well, for trying to make nonprofit events for the last 3 years, in order to keep my friends amused by lot's and lot's of hard work, i let myself explore, after being raised by the best P.L.U.R (yes yuli for example) people in this scene.
we are all phathetic, but at least we do it out of love
that's it
hope for better future for all of us
