u cannot save tracks

u send music to radio, shops and more
so u say, not to send anywhere before release?
and who will promote then?
it's endless.
we neew new technology or laws...

just like BSA:)

take Astral Projection's album for example.
no one had it before it got released
because they know how to save on their tracks, astral promoted the album by themselves.           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

a part of the problem is that the artists are putting their stuff to the net before it's released anywhere.. take a look at the Unusual Suspects 2 compilation.. 50% of those tracks are already in the internet..
So in the end the artists are the one's to blame..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

I think we can do nothing about downloading psytrance tracks here in this forum, because people most of people that trade and download music don´t even know this forum exists...
And I´m sure lots of people here in this forum download lots of tracks... Just look at the top 10...
If you post something like: "how many tracks did you downloaded this year?" you´ll have answers like: 10 Gigabytes...
And there´s nothing we can do about it. It´s not just psytrance, it´s all kind of music.

that's cuz astral don't need no promotion. the name sells

but seriously, we've discussed this in the "copying kills our music" thread and no one had came up with a solution, so... until someone does i don't think there's anything we can do.
trading mp3s happens in all music styles and no one has yet to come up with a solution even in pop, rock or rap.

Look ppl, it's very simple- you really like something- buy it. Then there'll be more of it.
And educate the people around you.           ---------------------------------------------

Trance suffers the most because the community is already very small to begin with. Then all the downloads are not helping either.
If you think that a trance top act is selling 20.000 albums, that's rather ridiculous, compared to the rest of the music world.

Unreleased music - not in stores. Trading unreleased music doesn't hurt the industry (even though it is immoral). Trading releases does.

Do you really think they who trade unreleased stuff only trade that and not released?

And how will you discover if someone post a released track , that it's an mp3? Impossible. So go for what you can discover, unreleased stuff. And delete them.           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

I was obviously kidding in my first post in this thread, when I say to delete all TOP 10 messages.

I my personal opinion is: this forum is amazing, really great, but we still have some strong censure here. We can´t talk about things that are strongly related to psytrance, like homossexualism, realigion and drugs, among other things... (logically I talk about these issues with some persons by private message).
If we start censuring messages in any section of this forum, just because it have the name of a song, everything will be lost...

Full on, it's not censorship, it's a choice of the spectrum of discussions.
Now it's not that I don't have a lot to say about politics & drugs and even their connection to psytrance, its just that in our experiences, which are long and diverse the end result when these topics are included in the scope of discussions is violence, disrespect, chaos and pretty much end of discussion about music.
Therefore, we chose right from the start to limit the subjects being discussed in this forum and that is explained well to every member when she/he joins.
I advise all to speak freely on any subject they like, I can even point to few communities where there is no limit on the scope of things disussed. I'm a member in one of them for 5 years now.
If we had more time to moderate and educate I would have loved to have a totally open community in here as well. But we don't. And so we chose 'the lesser of evils'- a community where we discuss only certain aspect of life, but where its fun to be and the vibe is good.

Off topic but had to be clarified.
I'll be happy to hear your comments on this here:

People download music because it's hard to buy it. You know, when you're living in a big city, it's easy, just go and buy in a music shop. But when you're living in a small town??? There is only one music shop for the whole place and they have never even heard about trance? Than it's getting harder. You'll say: "Buy from the Internet". But in the Internet everything is in american dollars, and these prices are impossible (don't forget aboyt delivery!)... So if artists want their albums to be bought, they need to give more of their music to music shops. And everything will get better. But until then downloading will exist.

You can´t excuse copying music coz of living in a small city
It´s not the musicans fault that in little towns are no music stores that sell trance....

If you can´t buy a car in this city you would steal one?

Also the artists don´t give their music to the record stores... that is the job of the label...
and the labels can´t send their music to all stores coz all this f****n traders copy them
and the label get not enough money to ship it to all towns in the world...

...we all have a good spirit in us... don´t hold it captured....

... so far....stay tuned...BOOM

I disagree about what you said, Tiny Giant.
If wasn't for downloading, some people I know, including people in this forum, would have acess to only one or two psy CDs in their whole life...
What's wrong about listen to the track first and buy it later? I think we must educate people in this way: download it, if it's good, buy it. It's the only thing we can do IMO.
I bet no one will stop the downloads... The internet is too big. They kill the Napster, them everyone migrate to audiogalaxy or kazaa. They kill audiogalaxy, them everyone migrate to Kazaa, Soulseek, WinMX, Limeware, E-Donkey, I-Mesh, etc... There was even discussion groups of to what system migrate...
Artists and Labels will have to learn how to deal with this... Just because it won't stop.

i see many people trading for the sake of trading...
its a hobby to them, like baseball cards or pokemon!!! this is over the top.

the only change can come from yourself and how you act.

there is and probably always will be trading, just don't be greedy... artists are only people too, one could even try contacting them and saying

"i have this unr track by you, and am seeking permission to play it in my set!!??"

you never know
