A while ago I posted a thread requesting info about Simon posford (I wasn’t able to find info in the artist database) and I also wanted to find out about people’s personal favorite Shpongle tracks. Most of the responses that I got were very helpful. However, some of them were similar to those I got in this thread – “I really don't see the point of these threads”. I was also “lucky” enough to receive some PM from people telling me what they think of my “important” threads.
The reason why I asked for the info is because I am doing a research project in school, and I choose Shpongle as my subject. If was to explain my reasons I probably would have gotten better responses. But, do I really owe an explanation to people about my motives to get a proper response? I don’t think so. I did not say anything at first, but when I posted the above thread, once again people found it amusing to respond in such a way.
I know that your first reaction would probably be to ignore the remarks and consider the others. But, let me tell you where I am left off; after the first stupid responses, the likely outcome will result in people following the herd by writing more stupid names. Basically, I will be left with nothing more than a bundle of junk names, and maybe 2-3 worthy of consideration.
So now you tell me: I am trying to rebuild the already dieing trance scene of NY, I ask for your opinions, and because of some people who think they are smart - I will probably get nothing but junk.
So you are still telling me i should not get upset?

Chill, amigo.
I understand what you are saying, since it happened to a lot of us and it is even partially discussed on the 'come on...' thread.
I have two suggestions for you for the next time. Both are not really nice and fun, but that's all I could think of:
1. Ask the mod of the relevant section to keep an eye on your thread and make it a serious one. I can't promise he or she will comply.
2. Keep on bringing the subject up once it gets lost in the same thread. Just something like - 'cool guys, we had our laugh, now back to my subject please..'
As I said, both are not fun at all, but I can't think of anything else.
How about ZAProductions?? (Or GAProductions LOL...)

as i see, i am one of those this thread refers to, so i'd better reply.
we have soooo many meaningless threads here, and believe me, this one isn't different at all.
i do think that you should explain yourself even a little bit, i always do.
maybe my answer isn't fulfiling, but there are just too many best of threads, and i think i'll be right to say next time you'd think twice before asking what is the best by whoever 
btw, i still don't see a point to this thread.
what does it matter if gilad refael likes star shpongled banner the most?

If you don't like the answers, that is fine. But there is still absolutely no need to resort to hostility & name calling (ie, "Not for the stupid!", "shut up and get lost!!!", "obviously some people are just dumb.", etc). If anything, your rude response just led to further smartass remarks like you didn't want to see.
Nobody meant anything bad with their jokes. Nobody was trying to belittle your efforts to make good parties in NYC. Look through the threads on this board...people like to make jokes. Nothing hostile in them. Just fun.
And you did get several serious responses along the way....just not all of them.
I think karnaf was right with his suggestion. If such things do annoy you, it would be better to politely ask that people be a bit more serious. Hostility will just either make peole want to give more smartass remarks, or make the people with serious suggestions not want to give them.

You say you try to rebuilt the Trance scene in New York?
Are you sure that's not a bit too big of an ambition?
Of course there is nothing wrong with this, except it makes me wonder how you would do this, if you couldn't even come up with your own production name?
Sorry about this but you seem to be upset because people don't send you better names, you think all the names they send to you were junk, and it seems without this great name you coudn't rebuild the New York scene, at least that what you are implying.
