Hi there,

Only a direction to go (by judging the shape of it):

Open Bazzism.Don´t have it? get it.Raise tSweep/lower vSweep. Go to evelope page.Draw a point between 0.005 and 0.05 ~ -12db. Draw anotherone right of 0.05 maybe at ~ -10db. Third one could be again to the right of the second but close to 0db... you get the picture ... sculpt it like that (don´t forget to listen to it tho ^^) After that the usual eq stuff - for more bottom you might want to raise the fundamental a.s.o... Throw some light distortion at it compress it to taste (most of the time you prob. won´t need much of that kinda processing if you sculpt it good in the first place).

A good saturation plug that I liked on weak kicks a lot is g.sonique xbass. It´s cheap and good (only 32bit win) - just be carefull not to overdo things.

Cheers, Christoph

can be eq and/or something that affect the amplitude ,fade envelop like mentioned above or compression (with/wihtout sidechain filter for not compressing the low end like in the pic...but there is so many way, a eq and a boost in the low after compression and u get this too..if the eq sound great at boosting low end it can sound good that way.. )

if u want clean, envelop...if u want to change caractere, compression and eq...i would say but everyhting can work..

It is really more about the settings i.m.o - the compressor that comes with your daw probably will be fine.

Talking about comps, you still might want to add to your daws inbuilt some that can sound quite different.

I find fabfilter pro-c / waves cla 2a
(Teletronix/Urei/UA LA-2A emulation) to be nice additions to lives built in compressors. Both are capable of some distinct (and really brutal) compression.

http://www.fabfilter.com/download/focus-pro-c-compressor-plug-in#focused

Pro-c has a 30day fully functional demo.

I also recommend the Tutorials by Psilocybian, he covers Kickdrum processing as well.

bazzism. insert s(M)exoscope after to see the kick shape..

I prefer to use volume envelopes to shape the kick, than to use a compressor. you can do it inside your daw or in a sound editor.

thanks Mandari for the pics...
I made this kick with sonic academy kick synthetizer
the first one is in raw

the second one is processed with 2 equalizers vibe eq and fab filter

both have heavy low end but is to long, the question is how to make the kick with a heavy low end but with a short waveform without cut the fades there is another way for this?           d(((+_-)))b

shorten the kick to the desired length. then.. pitch envelopes!
or tune the body of the kick, leaving the transient intact. boost the low end with an EQ!

or layer the kick with a sine.

Oh you have discovered the greatness of the fish shaped kick!

You can do so with envelopes or compressors but I find its much easier to use a simple EQ.

Just boost 1 to 3db around 60Hz for the belly part and make a -3db to -6db notch around the 200-400Hz to get that "valley" which separates the "click" from the fat "tail" (depends on sample of course).

A very crucial process for the psykick IMHO

In cubase and probably most other daws you can use the scissor tool to cut up all individual peaks of your kick.
Then you only have to raise or lower each peak's amplitude untill the kick looks like the one in your example.
