can Mr Posford under his Hallucinogen giuse keep doing major live acts, at various festivals round the world considering he hasn't released any new material as Hallucinogen in how long?
not just a listings section..

i'm inclined to agree, just an interesting point i rekon, he's a bit special, but imagine if GMS were still playing say the Growly Family - you wouldn't hear the end of it..
disclaimer: i am both a GMS and Hallucinogen lover, just a thought thats all:)

i'm sure i read somewhere and interview with simon some years ago (like two or smthing) maybe in dream creation or similar.. anyway he said he had got bored of writing stuff as hallucinogen and found much more enjoyment in collaborating. and you've got to give it to him he does a fair bit of collaboration even if most of it comes out on twisted.. we are just about to get younger brother album after all.
and to address your point more directly, the fact is he is being booked to play the major festivals as hallucinogen because people know he is a big pull. i've never seen him live but i understand it is still very good even if the tunes are old.. it shouldn't really matter after all, good music should stay good no?           >>love will tear us apart...<<

i totally agree - he is a big pull, and he's wicked live, just thinking there's not many who could carry on with the same music over a long period, but no it doesn't matter if the music's good:)

Has anyone ever seen the man DJ? Je**s! The only Psy DJ I've ever heard change records as often as a techno virtuoso, and I wish I knew where he'd got half the tunes from. The last 20 minutes was like 160 bpm + and trippy as hell all the way.

I heard a live recording of him from a really recent show, and it was hmmm.... a bit very thin on new tunes, and had Milooneyum in it exactly the same as on the record.

Didn't Posford have something to do with that Spawn/Beast record too? A live show of material like *that* would make me fill my pants. With my brain!

p'haps the small output of material = the highest quality for all tunes.
you have to factor in his ambient works as well, with two shpongle albums, woob and many other collaberations in the ambient zone.
he was quoted once in an interview somewhere as saying he preferred the ambient style as it was a clean sheet to start from with no straight forward beat pattern as basis for the music, thus making it more creative in a way. in many ways i agree with this.
so his output is low as hallucinogen but who cares, his music is better than anyone's.....           live life; be free

Does he do live sets with other projects? There are certainly Shpongle live appearances.... but e.g. is there gonna be some kind of Younger Brother tour with Benji Vaughn?

In any case Id be very happy to see a Hallucinogen set... it's not the same as those old rockers who play all their old favourites because we know that simon posforth or whatever his name is is still producing top quality music... just not under the name Hallucinogen....

Hehe that reminds me : he was on guestlist for photon generator and i was on the door for a bit. I was hoping soooooooo much that he'd turn up so that I could say 'umm simon posford is it... let me see.... no I am sorry you dont seem to be here..... that'll be 20 pounds please....' hehe
