How Live is a Live Set ?

Hi,
I am still relatively to writing psytrance but have seen more than a far share of live performances.
Astrix, Protoculture, Parus, Fractal Cowboys, Alien Mental and many more.
After learning more about how many layers are goin on at any given point in a track I dont think it is ever possible to play 100% live. One would need 5- 6 sets of hands doing different things at the same point.
Its all laid out , kick, bass, percussion and other audio effects.. if anything only melodies could be played live all the time....
SO .. is this correct ... the 4 beat bar / 8 beat bar.. live performances is not really 100% live...
