Hi everyone, i have started to mix few months ago, i dont have cdjs or turntables, i use a mixer connected to the computer and use mixvibes 5, its pretty basic, but the equipment is really expenssive.

Anyway my doubt is, how hard is to show yourself to the world? Become a dj a leave beging the role of room dj.
I ask this beacause for me, it shows itself its hard....           Share your knowledge, it's a way to achieve immortality

Your only guide - are your mistakes...

Is it a fear from preforming you are talking about?           {0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-

when u think u can play a really solid set without too many fuck ups (DJ) or u have got ur mixes close to what u hearing if u making it urself (ask other peoples opinion on sound quality, mix levels etc) and you know enough not to blow the speakers or their ears, then ur probably ready!

That also depends of your friends. e.g. if they listen to the music you mix I reckon it's not a problem for you to take the equipment and rent a small club and play there with and to your friends           @Iono_Music

In other words.

Your sitting in your room masturbating and want to go out and find a lady that you can hump,
but you fear the fear it self which is not being good in bed?

Just do it.

wise words kire-naj

remember: sometimes it's not worth the trouble but it's still better to find out than think about it for the rest of your life...

Hahaha!

dont fear of being bad in bed, know your limits and you be the best lover.

its a good thing to make a mixset for loving, this will give you a good mark for how long time you been doing foreplay and so on

think of sex like music, there is a intro(which is most important)and some verses and some chours, some variations on that and a bridge and a climax... ohh a very important part is, dont forget the breaks haha

if you really want to do something you will make it...

i think you got some good pointers, ill add, practise timing and take a course in some basic sound-engineering, hooking up equipment and different connections.. its good to know the stuff you work with. being able to set up a soundsystem and all the aspects of it is what seperates the pros from the amatures.

so read and practise, and talk to other djs and share your thoughts..

being a dj is to be a musical artist, so you need to know as much as they know... thats my opinion... and probably some lame dj will tell me that you only need to know how to beatmatch haha

Edris, you see... the only one who stops you to become a global player is yourself.

the best way of getting out of your room is not going in there....and if your allready in...well...i guess your fucked!

Cheers.

p.s on subject: when ever u feel your work is the best u can achieve with out help of others that are not in your room....
i find that having friends that are willing to give u HONEST feedback is essential for progression...

yeah that's how you get crappy DJs - tell them about the .7% scale so they can mix two beats, and get them out to play for 1000 people. no clue about musical knowledge and flow, learning how to build a set, etc. and then everybody complains about teh killargh n00b DJs.

best thing to do - from experience - is to build sets and record them, then listen to them in different states of mind and see what they sound like, what tracks work with each other and which don't and why. good DJs play what fits the time/vibe/party atmosphere, not the same set of killarghs and who cares if it's 3 in the afternoon, let's bang away that Psycho Micro.

anyway, take your time, the girls won't go anywhere..
          ..it's just another party..
