You guys are all wrong. Credit goes to the Goans, the Portuguese and to the "sossegad" way of life.

Then came the hippies. Then came the trance.

I know id still be chilling in Goa even if there was no trance culture. Maybe catch a goan wedding... thats quite a party!

if not for the freaks and hippies there would be nothing playing on the beaches of goa ...

I don't agree. You guys give the hippies way too much credit

@ daytripper..
u would too if you knew the history of goa and the freaks.

if u did i would like to have a healthy discussion to why we should not give credit to the freaks ...its very obvious u dont ..and i dont blame u for that ...

but you can be sure that if not for them there would be no psychedelic trance , your id and ur avatar...which is a clear reflection of their contribution ...

Have a nice day

I've never denied the contribution of the freaks. All I'm saying is that we give them more credit than they deserve. Nobody talks about the Goan people, their hospitality and all that... and about my Id, well that was inspired by a Beatles song, and the Beatles were no freaks. and the avatar is a pic of warning sign, again, nothing to do with the freaks!           "It's not the fall that kills you; it's the sudden stop at the end." - Douglas Adams

Saytam, Shivam, Sundaram

'Sustainable Living' is way cool, but so are Truth, Consciousness & Beauty.. strictly in that order!

My point is.. A Lotta people 'tuned-in, turned-on & dropped-out', but didn't make any further progress on the road to liberation..

And that's exactly why I hold people like Albie Hoffman, Goa Gil, Alex Grey, Steve Jobs, Simon Posford, etc. in such high esteem 'coz when you're working towards your own unique vision, you 'blossom' & all the psychedelics in the world can't f**k you up 'coz you're no longer ruled by the mind anyway!

Hell, I say, bring it on.. Let's dance our way to salvation.

P.S. @ smoke_alot, You're one of my heroes too.. No shit.           "If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."

i personally find these junkies hippies insanely selfish ...they don`t have many people who they really care bout or close to like we r (one guy frm poland about 24-25 whom i bumped in to in a cafe in goa told me he just emails his father once or twice yr).n i doubt any of them really care bout thr families.. parents..siblings whr ever they r or don`t even feel like meeting them typs.. they just work or do some shit ...earn money in pound..dollar .wht ever come hear behave like they r the kings of the world !!

in few words :
Irresponsible
Individualistic
Selfish

to sum it up a bad example to every one around

nt to forget they don`t shower regularly..don`t brush [ met lot of these so called hippies ..gave me real hard time talking with the insane breath ]

again thts how i see the whole thing myself..

maybe if u stop coming out with this hypothetical chutiya imaginary bullshit then you might actually meet good people in goa....... ill tell you what you guys come on here thinking youve been to goa 4-5 times and our goa experts, go fry somebody elses brain,,,,,,, let everybody have a nice time........ and also no need for some rasicist bullshit..... that maybe in goa the people who you met were having their own family problems... who our you to judge......

anyways take it easy guys.......... critisizing doesnt help......

Honestly though, not everyone is a part of the Mafia-Peddler-Party Organiser/ DJ - complex either!
