Ironic that people bitching the most about empty dancefloors are hardly on it. At Crystal Sky, many of the DJs were hanging out by the gate staring at their computers. So, they show little support for others, but expect a bunch of people to be there for them? You'd think of everyone, the DJs would be down there the most soaking up each other's sets. But it wasn't like that, and who cares? People have a right to enjoy the party however they want. If they don't want to dance, okay. There's a lot more going on then dancing at these parties. That's a good thing!

It's also kind of annoying when people who don't really know the midwest scene make generalized blanket statements about it.

There's some great psy parties happening in the midwest, but there's always ways they can improve. Free chai in the morning is a good idea

You missed me

Anyway, I was discussing the same thing with Ryan and Chris the other day and I guess its still to catch up. But the parties that we have at Cedar Rapids sees lots of dancers till the party is over.

I think still psy parties for people as of now is to get together, chill out - have a nice time rather then dancing. Hope it changes!           Discover.Vote.Share() - http://www.beamto.us

Rob it's true that@most OUTDOOR parties there are not too many people on the dancefloor. Situation looks completly different when party is happening inside smaller venue - then, it's usually packed. I know it's hard to find venue that can host an outdoor event. I wish we had something similar to Kalyx Center within 1hr driving distance from Chicago. Maybe more people could attned those outdoor parties and we could see more folks dancing their asses off.

Very true!! A inspiration to us all! As for dancefloors, if you build it, they will come.           http://soundcloud.com/djkiva

@robyo, true that im new to the midwest, but i wasnt making a sweeping statement without a basis, i had spoken to enough old timers out here who had been to most parties. Moreover my statement had to do with the morning hours specefically, not the night scene. Infact @ Apsylum we killed it totally at night, but the energy during the morning was rather disappointing, im hoping introduction of regular fullon will do the trick. Anyways was nice meeting you boys.
Cheers

The best dancefloors have always been in Psyowa, so I challenge you all that come to Blacklight Forest to do non-stop stomping and keep up with us old folk!

Ocelot is perfect for this venture, he goes from 2-5 I think ! If anyone can create a dancefloor into the early AM it's him! Besides, you'll see me cry tears of joy again for a morningscene like I did at Secret Fire & Interfuse Nothing makes me happier than seeing loved ones (that's pretty much everyone) dance their ass off to some kickass tunes!

Obviously nobody on this thread has been to a Texas party..crazy energy here and a great vibe, and plenty of people dancing. You just have a shitty scene I guess, because I don't see that here.

I think we just blew this idea away at the Iowa gig. Thumping dancefloor madness for 13 hours... the energy didnt drop for a minute!

Pax. We might have had some empty dancefloors in the morning but one thing that doesnt make it out here is a shitty attitude.

Enjoy your crazy energy and great vibe Texas parties. I'm sure you add a lot to it.

@Rao. I hope this changes your idea of things and the fact that you need to check something out before you can make sweeping comments about it. Eh Dancemaster!

Personally, I would like to see far more happening dancefloors at the outdoor parties in Texas...it's hard to compete with Mother Nature I guess. Plus I always question whether we'd do better with psytrance the organizers don't like so much but might go over better with more people on the dancefloor.
