I think it depends on the promoter. some promoters have parties in hole in the wall places, some have them in clubs. Heavy Rotation have had their last few parties at King King, and (this is my personal thoughts) I think they want to establish themselves there like Thump at the DNA Lounge. Which is good, because it's a guaranteed party with no bust and the promoter doesn't lose money. And it leaves it up to the dancers and the artist to make the party a special one.
I do think it's kinda too bad that with the special out of town acts like PsySex or Deedrah a couple months ago we don't have them outdoors. but I won't complain too loud. at least they come here and play somewhere  |

nice party dudes,
kinda wierd 'cause it was like a small pub,with no deco and shitty sound -
but the people sure made up for it,
the energies where there and almost no one left till the end(which was four in the morning,whats up with that?)

PsySex is what trance is all about so we could have been in a square box and it wouldn't have mattered..Your good vibes and smiles and those of the people made the party I look forward to seeing you guys play live in LA sometime...this time maybe until 4:30

Ah, I can't agree with you there. Heavy Rotation did a great job on the drapes, lights, and projections. It's a bar... how do you think fluoro would look? 
But yeah, 4 AM is way too early...
