+1 on the Sub, especially if you can wait and get a Sub37. I love its sound. If I did not have a Slim and a Minitaur, I would have that.
There's a lot of sounds to cover with the SubP. People sell them to get the Sub37 so you might find a great price on one as well. I get wet palms just thinking about the modular I would build with th remaining cash.

intellijel is imo actally some of the best modern sounding analog stuff for modern needs.. detailed and high quality sound to me, some of their stuff you can probably make a great sounding track with almost no eq and processing , source quality is just waoooo

Cool - thanks all - I can check out the Intellijel modules in Toronto, which is a bit of a drive away but not too bad.

The Minitaur is probably ideal for the Moog sound; all the demos I've seen sound fat as fuck...

Intellijel I just don't know enough to trust the sound... but you guys seem to support it big time. I also have little to no experience with modular, so I'd be shooting in the dark for what to actually get...

Will check again to see if I can actually get the Macbeth here... they do sound so good...

You could get a eurorack and this...

You get the best Moog sounding synth (the irony its not made by Moog...) and still have lots of cash to get more modules.

yeah the macbeth eurorack would be a great choice...for example if you dont know much about modulars just adding a intellijel dr octature 2 filter will change the caractere of the synth to make it sound more rolandish ..then you can add a other filter or what ever, it expand the caractere of the synth big time..it can be simple for starting....then with time you will know what to buy to expand .

also depend if you want something to make music almost like using preset workflow, or if you like patching some sounds..thoguht it probably dont take much time too..except if you want to explore new stuff maybe..

Tracking will be sorted by the ES-4 voice calibration with a click of a button, in seconds. Saw some wicked videos of it doing some fantastic FM. Hmmm...

Yeah , its a peach at fm, but only one saw, and yhe waveshaper needs a bit of overdrive to really get going

Best square wave I ever heard though

Osc sync really sucks on it, not clean like a moog

But the x lock on it is nice, keeps the carrier and modulators freq
Together so your fm is more stable           Â°Â°Â°ACTS 4:12°°°°

I cannot stress how brilliant the ES-4 with the Silent Way suite of plug ins is... Modular never had it so good in terms of what is available today, inside 8hp.

True , very true

Especially when you run them in NI maschine

Cant stress that one enought, tweeking different clock signal,
Also use different scenes for patch recal data as well, amzing to get the two running together, really make mymodular rock           Â°Â°Â°ACTS 4:12°°°°

muffwiggler opened a store in my city yesterday - was pretty amazing seeing how many modules are available.

Got to put my hands on pretty much everything I've wanted to check out (that I know of - which is not much) and then some. played with a buchla, all the make noise stuff, malekko, intellijel, circuit abby, mattson modular, a minimoog (the best sounding osc/filter that I heard.....amazing....), wmd synchrodyne, the imitation buchla stuff which I can't recall the name of, toppobrillo, lots of harvestman....

didn't change my opinion - make noise/intellijel are the best. STO/DPO are amazing - as is the synchrodyne. buchla sounded good but not nearly good enough to justify the ridiculous price.

I still am not sure what the better/cheaper option is though....to get a DC coupled soundcard instead of an ES module (but you can still use the ES software...right?), or to get a non-DC coupled soundcard for cheaper that can integrate with an ES module....            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Just curious as to why The Harvestman gets little love here? I've borrowed my friends setup which is primarily these modules & they make some crazy wonderful digital psychedelica. Makes me think I should go 12u instead with some of this mixed in with my Make Noise & Intellijel...           Cuntus Maximus.
