I was wondering why there isn't any
discussion going on here, it's only about
20 days away, any news? I mean, I'm pretty
excited about it, how many people do you
guys think will come? (How about previous
years?)
Are we going to have a timetable before
the event? It would be interesting to know
who would be playing at midnight on the
31st... Any guesses?

And all you Indians out there, you're quite right to admire Karan, I had never heard him play before and was just blown out of the material world that morning... He is INSANE.

Uhmmm,where do i start?? This festival probably is going to much greater heights in the coming years for sure. When i reached Na Thai, a small place in Krabi District of Thailand,i had no clue what was in store for me except for the artist line-up which was the sole reason for me to go to the festival.I check into my bungalow and say "GREEN SPIRIT" to the owner and she prepares a CAR for me,such a beautiful vibe to begin my journey with.
Scene 1 : The drive to the location is like 10 kms from my bungalow(Ao Nang) and guys trust me the music was so insane i cud hear it clearly from my bungalow. Guess they installed like 10 loudest boxes.So we drove through a small piece of land with curves, lush canopy trees above me, music gettin closer and closer and louder with each passing minute, and crazy INSANE people on their BIKES(u can rent a bike for a meagre 150 Bahts a day) totally drunk,tripped and flipped out.
Scene 2 : I check in to the festive arena,get myself a nice GREENSPIRIT tag, and like walk a kilometre uphill and BANGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG -- i really paused for my breathe -- TRIPPPY place people, stunning Deco work and Art, lush greeen trees above you ,and u walk like 150 metres downhill and u r entering a STATE OF TRANCE with each closing step.
Scene 3 : Music -- MindBlowing, out of the world experience. 52 hours of Non Stop paranoia. But to me the best part(s) of the festival were -- when DJ AURICLE played at the BANG of NEW YEAR, Mr.PECULIAR (guys trust me these two know how to set the tempo for the rest of the night) and then comes AZAX SYNDROME ( i drool on his music) and to watch him live in front of my own fuckin eyes ,just the mere thot of it BLEW ME apart, i was stunned for a moment,gathered myself and danced till he lasted(i bowed to him when he was done), was thinking of a break but then comes SPACE TRIBE (killed it again) the time is like 5 am and i think of a break and pat comes the FIRE SHOW ,so i hold myself again ,watch the fire show - brilliant piece of work by VENUS VIBES - and guys hold your breath cos PSYSEX is abt to play-- fuck,where is my rest?? when do i possibly rest? take a break?? when,where and how?? This Questions flashed me umpteen number of times but i passed the thot everytime -- my body was abt to give up because it has been stretched to the limit for the last 34+ hours or so -- never before done kind of moves -- gyrating,pulsating,death defying leaps, tripped out & flipped out dance (thanks to the mushrooms) -- i was so tired i cud just lay down for an entire day. But but but but i can't sleep with an INDIAN artist just abt to play -- and guys did he play?? MAN -O- MAN ,KARAN,THIRD EYE,JEDI call him whatever u want to,where have u been hiding all these days man??? And WHAT WAS THAT FUCKIN THING u played that morning??? Jedi i have never experienced anything like i felt that day morning, i was catapulted to new heights my mind cud never ever imagine or travel all alone,but JEDI u made it POSSIBLE, and yes i'm sticking with u,i will follow u to many fests that u play,hope u BLOW ME away.But,seriously dood,what was the FUCKIN INSANE thing u played that morning??? I wish i cud have that recording(if anyone did record it,please send me that). I remember me and a Aussie chick wid a eagle feather were so fuckin tripped out on KARAN, we never realized he was done.So after this i had to take a break and guys what a INSANE ending to the fest!!!!!! Dj SABAII SABAII (write down his name -- another killer on prowl) four hours live set and people wanted more and more and more and more and more and more and more of him -- there were appluases,cheers, encore shouts,crazy stuff and fuck!! the ending track Sabaii Sabaii played will always stay with me deeep in my mind, i was in a state of trance,yes i was and how good was it?? Fuckin good.The party had to come to an end, and i had the most wonderful NEW YEARS eve and 52 HOURS Of Psychedelic state.
Scene 4 : The People : What do i say abt the people??? It was like a gathering of sorts,people from all over the world dancing under a common shade is such an experience in itself. Trance does bring people together and unite them for ever,cos i met so many wonderful people,i would never ever want to miss them again.They were so full of energy for 52 hours,killer vibes,always looking out for one another,positive approach,u cud just abt talk to everyone without any second thoughts, i rmbr when i was trippin on AZAX's music,i was so thirsty, i just looked around and pat came a 2 litre bottle from a Japanese girl,it was all understood,everyone had the same psyche,same thoughts,same feelings,same experience.It was all so wonderful,like a dream world.Sharing Shroom Shakes,rolling stuff for each others,popping pills, taking those EYE DROPS it was all a DREAM.Smiles all around,dance all around,relaxing all around, i have been to a few trance festivals but nothing could ever compare to the VIBES and ENERGY GreenSpirit provided.
All in all a beautiful festival and im already looking forward to 2007 nd 2008 edition. Thankyou Stephen for organizing such a wonderful event on such a huge scale and magnitude and coming out with flying colors and smiles all over. Could never stop thanking you.Thankyou once again Stephen and THANKYOU KINGDOM OF THAILAND!!!! |

Highlights - Frekulizer, Peculiar, Bhoj and one thai dood, Jackie played ONE TRACK THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING INSANE!!! I have a small recording of the tail end of it that I will post in case anyone recognizes it...One of the girls who was DJ'g cued the wrong channel and was oblivious to it b/c she had the headphones on.. Big mistake...
Silicon for some reason did not impress me and I usually really dig his style... Psysex is not my style but I heard a couple of good tunes from the top of the hill. Did not catch Hujaboy or Azax but I was told they were not that hot..
Everything else was rocking, the scenery, deco, lights, sound, chill out, food, beer, bathrooms, coppers, transportation, etc. etc.
