Tim Schuldt has some gothic (a la goth metal) things, but as for a true gothing atmosphere, there's maybe some stuff by Juno Reactor that might fill that spot, but not perfectly. X-Dream have their moments too (Rewind, when the strings come in there)... And so do a few others, but since truely melodic psy is unavailable at the moment, it probably won't become any more common.

Gothic Trance? I don´t know if is Trance but the new Xenomorph´s Album it´s absolut Gothic Style... it´s Gothic eletronic music with psychedelic elements... and he is the Master of the Darkness on trance songs!!!
Infected Mushrrom and Psysex, never released something Gothic, also DarkSoho.. they never made something Gothic.. they made Dark songs, and... Psy Trance with Dark influences it´s totally diferent from Gothic Trance.

Trance music takes influences from all sorts of styles and that's one of the reasons why it is so appealing to lots of ppl.
One of the first trance albums I've heard was Killing Joke - War Dance (for those who don't know it's a remix album by Hallucinogen, Deedrah, NIN, among others) and has you know they were (are?) a goth-punk-rock band. They released a album this year.
If I'm not mistaken, one of the members is or was somehow connected with Dragonfly. |

Yeah, Youth was, I believe, the drummer for Killing Joke, and the founder of Dragonfly. |

Hi,
Licio from Italy here...
In 2000 I went to a party in the castle of Mesocco in Swirzerland.
Close to the end it was played a track that I'm sure it was a Sister of Mercy psy-trance remix...didn't know the track but I'm pretty sure Eldritch vocals vere on it.
It went down a storm and it was beautiful!
Does anybody know what was that?
I also know Wayne Hussey (from The Mission-Sisters of Mercy) and he like psy-trance a lot!!!
Ciao
Licio |
