Hey Isak, the sound which you are referring to is not from a flute. It is from another instrument called the "Shehnai". It is not played by snake charmers, it is a common instrument played (on tape/CD naturally) during auspicious occassions in India.
One of the best shehnai artistes India has ever known is Ustad Bismillah Khan. Try to find some of his work and you'll get that sound.
AND FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT. INDIANS DO NOT "PLAY" WITH SNAKES!!!

Sorry abt the multiple posts. Just a lil addition though - shehnai is pretty similar in appearance to the clarinet. In all probability, the shehnai is a clarinet but I'm not a 100% sure. Don't Worry, Stay Trippy! |

Hey Isak, glad I could be of some help.
I wasnt hurt, it just amused me to see, how even with the widespread access and usage of the internet some people could still choose to be so ignorant and pass such careless remarks ... especially so on a forum where theres like hundreds of us Indians around !!!
Anyways all the best with your production, hope to listen to some tunes with shehnai samples when u're done

Ive heard that Midival Punditz and Audialize are doing an encore to the Dark Age Remix...
the name of the track is 'Letting Go'
possibly a release on the next 3rd eye compilation
just wondering if anyones heard it yet... and if yes, does it live up to its predecessor? |

@Isak
yeah ... Letting Go is a Karsh Kale track... realised my mistake later. The MidiP track thats being remixed is "Night" ... but maybe Audialize is doin Karsh Kale too ... Asian Massive Vs Psy ... nice blend. |
