Not sure if Luke posted this on here or not, so I'm going to post it for him:

Hey all,
It's been real, but it's been a long time coming.....
I am retiring from the world of Dj'ing and event promoting. It's been a good ride, but I just feel like my life is taking a different direction right now.

I want to thank all of my friends and Goahead associates that have worked with me in the past to bring psytrance to Northeast Ohio. It's been a great ride and I have made allot of close friends and have had amazing experiences.

People have been asking me when the next Goahead event will be taking place. The answer is there won't be for a very long time if ever. I want to go back to the innocence
of the small house party gatherings that just happen with no stress and planning. Just food, folks and fun. That was evident to me at Moke's last labor day gathering at the Possum farm. There was no politics, no pressure, no planned lineups, people just showed up and it went down on the underground tip.

I had a great 2007 and capped it off by being able to play at Aum festival and Gaian Mind. They were both two of the most amazing Dj experiences that I have ever had. We also threw 2 pretty amazing parties in 2007 with Winterdelica and Psyberry fields. I want to extend a special thanks to EVERYONE that was involved in making those events happen. Even though some of us have moved on, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I wish you all the best in whatever you do or promote.

So, Meghan, Moke, Marisa, Nicole, Jamie, Bj, Ross, Roman, Alberto, Stas, Derek, Terry, Xyla, Steph, Shawn, Erik, Henry, Sid, Anja, Ron, Jed, Mubali, Dean, Dave, Lauryn, Todd, Trout, Jenn, Bill.....and any other local crew that has helped Goahead. BOM!! and many
thanks.

Big shouts to the Gaian Mind crew and all who helped plan the A.U.M Festival. You guys all do it the right way.

You will still be able to catch me at the occasional house party or small DIY underground gathering. I will also still probably release online mixes a few times every year, because I still really love the music.

I have spent so much of my time and energy planning and promoting events and playing out. I just want to go out and enjoy what others are putting together and explore new horizons.

Thanks again to all of my friends.

Peace and Blessings!

I'm out.

It's a shame to hear that Luke has decided to call it a day.

As one door closes another will always open.

i certainly hope so.
this continent needs a (gentle & friendly)kick in the ass
(psy trance wise)
come one people lets party!!!

didnt meet you Goahead People but thanks for making stuff happen-
i sincerely hope your regional scene spawns more organizers... as we all know it takes organization to make the bigger events happen. its sometimes a thankless job- so i want to extend a big thank you for all the organizers who have brought mind blowing trance events to us...

always sad to see a crew close up shop. Esp when your kinda the only ones in your area holding down the psy vibe.
I hope someone that Goahed may have inspired at some time decides to step on up, and keep trance alive in the Ohio region.
As Aaron said though, it is often a thankless job, and i certainly can sympathize with the desire to get back to basic's and the undegrounds of close friends.

wishing all the best to those in Ohio and beyond

Its great to see Meghan go from strength to strength, Goahead may be calling it a day, but we will not call it a day and it's great that Meghan is now part of the Psylicious Collective.

from my experiences, whenever anyone announces publicly that they're "retiring from the scene" they are actually full of shit and just crying for attention

not saying thats the case here, but....well....it sounds like it

Goahead Luke has been an amazing energy force in the psytrance event world and is an amazingly wonderful person. I assume, Luke, we haven't seen the last of you on dancefloor however. Pick your parties well and keep partying with us, that's good enough for me. And sometimes its better to hang back a little, re-center, and better appreciate events. I should know, i've been going at it like mad this year...fortunately winter will afford us some consolidation of focus. But, you know, i'm anticipating 2008 being even more mad!!!

all the peace, see you in the not-so-distant future...

The initial statement was made by Luke in a private email to all of the goahead crew and those on the goahead email list after people asked about the next event they're gonna do. Meghan felt that it was neccesarry to post it here since people who really liked that particular crew don't always subscribe to the email list. I'm sure that if one of your favorite trance crews just up and didn't throw parties without saying a word, you'd probably want to know what happened to them. The comment that was made seems slightly offensive and perhaps even uncalled for, but it is this forum and you have every right to say it, just as much as it is my right to explain to you what happened. Sorry you see it the way that you do, but knowing the situation relatively intimately, I know that this isn't a cry for attention. Especially since Luke didn't put that post up here at all.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I will
be seeing most of you around. I am in the
process of getting together with people
around the area to begin a "House Party
Syndicate" To keep the vibe going. This
is a great way to still get my trance on
without doing "Goahead events"

Just parties with friends, no hassles, lineups, fliers, promotion, itineraries,
politics, etc....just good old fashioned, early in the mornin trance in an intimate setting. That's how it all started for me anyway. I'm hoping we can just get a group of heads together to chip in and bring in artists to our house parties. If not, there are very capable Dj's around here within a short driving distance.

I am enjoying retirement at the moment though. I'll probably still offer to help
with A.U.M festival in 2009 also since that is something I believe has allot of potential
and is something I believe in.

It's been a great 2007 for me. I'll see you
all around.

Peace and Blessings!

Well, our boy Ross aka DJ Uzi has decided to start doing his own thing. He has formed a collective called Nuts n Bolts. I think he'll be doing his first event in November. He has started a Nuts n Bolts group on tribe. http://tribes.tribe.net/nutsandbolts           http://www.psylicious.com

I understand your position, Luke! The house party vibe is intimate magick! Best of luck to you...it seems to me your faith remains strong! My wife's family is from Medina, OH., so when i'm out visiting the in-laws, maybe i'll call you up and see if I can play one of those house parties!

I grew up in Medina. I live like 15 minutes
away so let me know if you come in town.
