A few timeless classics...
Infernal Machine - Nocturnal Chainsaw Kerfuffle (Twisted Records)
Simon Posford teams up with Richard Trevor of Green Nuns of the Revolution fame and the result is something out of this world. I really love Hallucinogen's all-time classic LSD, giving me goose pimples every time I listen to it, but I might get even more goose pimples by Nocturnal Chainsaw Kerfuffle. Definitely one of my most precious EPs in my collection.
X-Dream - The 5th Dimension (Live in Paris) (Tunnel Records)
Featured on their very sought-after debut album Trip to Tranceylvania, The 5th Dimension was originally written together with Planet B.E.N and released on an EP preceding their debut album. Just listen to the production... Indeed, they broke some boundaries with this one.
Green Nuns of the Revolution - Cor (TIP Records)
Originally released in 1995, Cor is one of their best tracks and, moreover, one of the best tracks from the golden period of goa trance. Although the track itself is quite simple,it is still arranged brilliantly with lovely full power melodies and it surely makes any dancefloor rocking.
OOOD - Kundalini (Live at The Theatre Factory, London, NYE 1995/1996) (Completely Cabbaged)
I can't really make up my mind as to whether this track or Cobra is my favourite track from the guys behind OOOD. What I do know is that both of them can make any dancefloor go crazy. I've played it a few times in my sets and I've seen people completely blissed out to this track. Check out these Britons quite rare gem A Live from 1996! Aural transmissions from the deep forests of Sweden
www.dvsmrecords.org - 'Patterns II EP' by Silent Horror out now! |

So many great goa releases from back in the days... It seems like only the "big" names seem to have stood the test of time, but I haven't seen Dimension 5 and Etnica and Asia 2001 and Chi-a.d. in the lists! Pure bliss!
For people that still like this music today, I wrote an article for Isratrance and the Opus Iridium cd, about goa releases since 2000, you can check it out in the articles section!
2008 also gave us some exceptional trance releases I think, for old school lovers Ra - 9th is a must for sure! And soon we'll release a new compilation with some older unreleased tracks from famous groups and new groups as well...
Keep the Goa Trance alive!

I've been listening to my old Goa favorites all summer. Been keeping me sane. If I die now I'm happy to have tripped out with Flying Rhino, Blue Room, Matsuri, Spirit Zone, Tansient, Dragonfly, TIP, Trust In Trance.
Total Eclipse
Prana
Kox Box
Transwave
MWNN
Space Tribe
Electric Universe
GNOTR
Astral Projection
Shakta
X-Dream
Etnica
Psychaos
Technossomy
Miranda

Hallucinogen
and on and on and on and on...
I know nostalgia is supposed to be unhealthy and all but fu-u-u-uck that's some incredible music. |
