Damn I miss Goa. Funny how the scene changes shape every year. Cant say if its bad or good. Will settle with different. All I know is that the talk that happens on this forum (Scene ON/Scene OFF) is of no consequence once you reach there. Goa is its own world. And there are way too many freaks to hold down. Partys will happen no matter what.

Hilltop and Arambol were great but kindof forgettable. My trip was defined by simpler things.

Blazing my bike up and down the hills of north-Goa with the beach on my left and that smell of sea in the air.

Walking around Anjuna flea market (Saw SpaceCat walking around with his kid. )

Spending the afternoons lying on the beach, sitting in a shack drinking watermelon juice with old infected tracks playing on the sound system.

Sitting and talking to random souls for hours on end....getting to know them, but never their names.

Smoking a chillum to celebrate a Goa sunset.
Teaching myself new Poi moves on the beach

Getting my hair completly braided, realising I look like a complete goof but not giving a damn because I blend right in!

And one decision that I made in 2004 which played out perfectly in 2005 : Brought my portable speakers with me with a special-chillout playlist for the occasion. The location was key. To get there you have to walk from Disco Valley down to the beach and the rock formations, climb to the highest point on the rocks and then down and around till you are sitting on the other side. You're cut off at this point. 270 degree view of the Sea and 90 degrees of rock behind you.

So there we were, 2 hours before sunset. Lying on the rocks, watching the waves bring dozens of crabs onto the shore, and floating to the sountrack of 'Tripswitch-Circuit Breaker' and 'VA - Multiple Organisms'

Goa is so much more than Psy-parties.

Spent 9 months in goa and wat can i say, its made me a totally different person to who i was before, got an opportunity to understand life much better, started reading books which i never used to and best of all its got me closer to the sun and the moon which i never used to bother looking at back home

But Goa is a place to Rejuvunate urself and thats the beauty wat goa has

Realisation...It took me one visit, after several (five) to really see Goa. Maybe because it was March /April **offseason*** but it rocked my world. I saw the same guy this winter running down south anjuna in his thong, the pink one with the Gil-ish dreads going on. I bet someone else recognized him..hes just always there, running up and down the beach. Some things never change. Goa doesn't really. Everytime I set foot..Wow. It's SO different but so the same. Same shit different smell ? hehe

Apart from the digression...GOA is Paradise. You move north/south the beaches get beautiful, the water blue, the people just so more relaxed and less drug freaky. Intelligentish conversations - as much as your brain in Goa mode allows. Different music, different experiences.

It's all about your own theme music to Goa. I bought a wicked external hdd with a portable speaker. Pretty loud...Sorted me through the many travels - Arambole : Bamboo Forest - it's a place everyone should find for themselves. I re-read my favouirte bookes, got a PROPER tan - unlike all the semi translucent white kids I see around. SPend time with my family - well my friends are my family, one big connected warm one. The Stars in MORJIM oh my god we spotted a satellite, and the milky way. Hows that? And how embarassing is getting sun burnt when your pale as hell swedish friend remains unburnt?

Watermelon Juice. The red sand, sometimes I feel its so much everywhere that my lungs must be coated with it. A massage from a special person on the beaaaaaach, damn. I'm rambling I know but I have the biggest grin on my face - beats the minus 6 degrees outside...And I totally agree with you Va*n, its not about the parties - far from it. the more i go there, the crappier the parties are, but the less I care. Are we finally growing up?

The Darkness, it lies waiting. Dormant but ever ready...to envelope us all. Embrace it or denounce it, one must pick a path.
