Not quite 190, but its off of Goa Gil's Worldbridger album: http://play.saikosounds.com/m3u/095/df.m3u

Good luck to you if you can stand both minutes of this Spider-Pig track in French, all 190BPM of it:

Hope that helps Rob-Ot.

boom...

Agree........

i like this sound system also. turbo do a great job if being set proper. very compact and solid.

I had a really good time at this trippy party. Gil's progression through sound fit the mood and, as always, he ended it very nicely.

Thanks to those who made it happen and who are keeping this spirit alive. Looking forward to May.

I saw him in Arkansas, and I would agree fully with this... Although, I really enjoy the utter-rape carnage for the most part.
I felt there was a lack of substance to most of the tracks. Too much flashy glitch action. Had a really great time at the party though. And the 190 bpm track(I thought it was actually faster hearing it) was freakin awesome...

glitch = overdone

everybody keeps bitching about how annoying it is, i don't know anyone that really likes it. producers take note?

it wouldn't be so bad, if people programmed more of their own "glitches" (edits) instead of strapping dBlueglitch across their master buss so much

but this also gets back to the annoyance of "start-stop"... how much is too much?

imo, it takes very little 'start-stop' to get annoying and throw people out of the trance. It's fun once in a while, maybe once or twice per 2 hour set, but more than that, and it just gets annoying.

Glitch - IMO - is great for ambient IDM. In moderation. Glitch dance music, like Glitch Mob, Kraddy, some dubstep and techno and psy like Cosmo and a myriad other psy producers is really lame after you hear it a few times. Cosmo's albums are great the first time, not so good the second, after the third I start hating it.

I am not alone in this, btw - tons of people complain after hearing these sets.

I like some 'clicks and cuts' stuff, some artists do it well, but it belongs more on the minimal side of things, full-on psytrance is too busy for it.           ..it's just another party..

well, i'd hate for a term referring to an artistic process/preparation with potential for a huge amount of variation be invariably tied to the sound of high bpm farty psytrance being run through a paticular plugin to make "dramatic" breakdowns cosmo being a prime example...

perhaps but clicks and cuts might be an ideal way to store alot of musical information in "busy" (psychedelic)? music?

while we are being critical of overdone content in psytrance, has noone else ever noticed or pointed out that alot of psytrance or psystomp or whatever it's callled now seems to be perpetually obsessed with a set of timbre variations found within FM synthesis, paticularly the kind of sounds you get with single FM operation (albino, virus, nord, etc...) we go from sinewave to guitar to fart to fizz, and back again.... and again and again...

i am not saying it couldn't be done tastefully. There's some great minimal glitchy techno, mid- and downtempo stuff.

it's just i haven't yet heard it done properly (ie without going overboard) with psytrance or any other peak dancefloor music that requires a lot of sounds, breakdowns and such to get the crowd going.

I agree with the current sentiments on the glitch that's become way too prevalent in psy-trance. It's very hard to say how much is too much or if it can be tastefully done. Each track and it's dynamics are so different to have a working generalization. One of the tracks in which I think it works is Ghreg on Earth's - Lilacs for Beltrane. Just his build throughout the track and then throws that half bar glitch in. It works for letting you know just how deep of a trance he can put you in with that build to that point. I don't mind in that instance that my trance was broken some only because you get to realize the utter beauty of that track. I agree with Jeff about Gil's set having too much glitch overall, and a lot of the tracks weren't good enough to stand on their own w/o the cliche-ish glitch. At least there wasn't an overabundance of screams to go along with the glitch           Brian - Uhm
