Cannibal you are SOOOOOOO wrong man.

Eyal Barkan DID NOT help the trance scene in any way.
on the contrary, when people saw one can release a cd with low-production value,a few samples from israely"boorekas" movies and catchy lines, dozens of CD's and artists in the same genre started to spawn.

This "music" was deliberatly aimed at young people >>>so lots of kids started to get into the scene(and of course took a lot of E's in the process) which imo,is a bit hard for young children.

This genre has given israely trance a BAD NAME.

period.           http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ace-Ventura/6139679270

not only that, people regarded every trance music as "eyal barkan/nitzhonot" from hereonend, and to this date, people regard trance as low quality music with simplistic messages.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

You are so wrong cannibal , trance didnt stared from nitzhonot , it's the opposite , nitzhonot started from trance .
trance was here a long long time before nitzhonot showed up , it's just a simple form of trance , simple melody lines and "UTZ UTZ UTZ " rythem , and maybee some fx's thrown around           http://myspace.com/nescoffe

Promotion that just backfired man. With all due respect - a lot of ugly things moved from the Nitzhonot music into the psy scene - first of all, I think that as a style it infuenced full-on as we know it today, gave trance the "ohh, yeah, like good morning israel? that's shit music" name, as well as made Extasy a lot more popular in the trance scene.

And trance didn't start with nitzchonot, I won't start explaining why that's totally wrong. His promotion was to a LOT of people that later only understood psychedelic music through drugs at parties (not everyone, naturally, but a big amount). With all due respect, the trance scene can take care of itself without this type of promotion (which was a big hit only in Israel and to a lesser extent Greece, and I think that Israeli trance is only starting to recover from that push Barkan gave it).

I respect Barkan as a person who found a style that people wanted to hear but nobody offered. I respect him for being a great financial success. Cannibal, please, please, PLEASE, don't expect me to respect him for the way he helped the trance scene.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

dude,
have you ever heard of X-dream? Juno Reactor ? Total Eclipse?Transwave????

the term "nitzhonot" was invented around 97-98 in israel.

but i guess you are too young to know that

Mr Hanky is right offcourse.
Cheesy music appear in 1997.
On the other hand Eyal Barkan and Holymen introduced trance music to many people.
I was one of them,my first cd was Good Morning Israel to be honest.
Offcourse many things have changed since them but we always have to remember who we are and where we began from
Respect to all the artists.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

this is an interesting thread to observe... ya see i have no idea who eyal barakan (or whatever is) and no idea what his music sounds like... i can only assume its pretty awful. also i guess i should point out that this stuff (clearly) never reached over here and therefore did not effect getting people into trance over here in any way.. some of you sound as annoyed as i do when people assume i listen to paul van dyk ha ha           >>love will tear us apart...<<
