So...guys, happy new year to all of you we are at a new age, we beat the 012 and many of that new Age shit is finally gone (end of the world, change of conciousness)...
but we have Glitch hop...What do u think about this new Trend??? i've seen it grow slowly but it has become something...that i honestly just don't find attractive, but im sure many people does...so what are your Toughts about this new emerging and supposedly psychedelic Style???

Nothing psychedelic about it. It annoys me that it has become such a big part of the outdoor psychedelic music scene. It belongs in a club or warehouse.

It's not that new a trend, within psytrance scene maybe in Australia & US but otherwise Glitch Hop is more in the Bass Music scene and has been for a while.
Most Beatport stuff aside it's a great sound imo, with some very trippy producers especially guys like Heyoka, Vibesquad, Goosebumpz, Tipper, Circuit Bent, Meat Axe ... and the slower heavier glitch coming from the Enigmatik records guys.
Not psychedelic in the layered sense but sound design wise it's pretty freaky stuff...

I occasionally will like some of the sound design aspects, but most of the time....boring....
I've seen dancefloors go off to this type of stuff, but even then I'm just standing there going....how...what? my body doesn't want to get down

I can get down to it. It's pretty much the only type of midtempo music I could dance to. It's not really psychedelic but it's refreshing to hear it as opposed to dubstep.

I know it for a few years, but haven't found any tune that I like from this genre so far. For me kinda commercial hiphoppish vibe that I dislike and the gliches.. glitches not as my imagination was expacting them to be befor. I expected somthing more and many more kinda psychedelic glitchy stuff to the fullest.
I'm happy it's not popular here in germany so far. Thumbs down ^^

When electrocado write psy they are good but their glitch hop is terrible.
And they don't really write psy anymore....

As with most music styles, I love some glitch hop and don't like other bits... personal favourites of mine that I would definitely consider psychedelic

Mr Bill is immensely good, I don't like his stuff too much when he gets too 8 bit or melodic but his imagination with production blows me sideways.

i think its whack.
well, i've heard a couple tunes that were not offensive to me and maybe danceable after a few drinks (and i like the tempo range), but overall the style sounds really sterile and gray to me. I think people say its "psychedelic" because there are a lot of odd/strange sounds, but i don't find this to be true. "psychedelic" means "mind manifesting" and for me, nothing manifests in my mind when i listen to this. there's no journey, no color, nothing thought provoking....just awkward sounds, rigid beats, and lots of nu-bass.
i listened to both tracks posted in this thread so far and found silence preferable to both.
maybe i'd like this music better if i were a robot

Consider that these sounds come from the Bass Music scene, and in that scene a lot of Glitch Hop is psychedelic. It a relative quotient.
Lots of genres have found their way into psychedelic trance parties, I don't find it any more or less tripped out than the tech house, minimal tech, and even a lot of full on psytrance. Just take a look at stuff they're selling on psyshop these days!

PS. Even though Enigmatik records is not technically Glitch Hop, Sun in Aquarius is more psychedelic in all senses than most psytrance out there.
