That´s the brazilian profile on Trancers Guide to Galaxy 2007, a collaboration between Mushroom Magazine and Chaishop.com, with the basic info to trancers and travellers on more than 30 trance scenes around earth. It´s gold on your pocket!

Get a life in the silicon jungles of Brazil!

A brazilian trance civilization is in fast development on this multiracial country. Exotic landscapes, surreal temporary autonomous zones and freak party-animals make one of the strongest trance scenes around the world. Bring your smile but keep an eye open: you´re in the jungle.

Brazil was born on a Bahia beach. Brazilian trance scene was born at the same shores, 500 years after the portugueses first arrived. The new squadron brought a global jet set in love with the warm breeze blowing on this side of the Atlantic. The Arraial d`Ajuda – Trancoso axis, south of Bahia state, in its golden times gathered aliens, freaks and nativos through UV endless summers. With more parties than grains of sand, Trancoso is the brazilian Goa since the early 90´s, blooming the psytrance culture throughout Brazil.

When you think Brazil, you think gigantic. Every year after the Trancoso summer, the aliens returned home and triggered new trance scenes in our major cities. What followed was the birth of a huge ever growing pulsating beast around all Brazil: big and professional festivals, lots of outdoor parties, friendly and beautiful people, a solid nightclub agenda, high demand for DJs, lives and deco teams and an intense sound / culture interchange.

There´s tectonic trance activity around all the Brazil crust. The epicenter is São Paulo. The grey hive pumps all year long: monday to monday club vibes (Klatu, Club A, Manga Rosa), big weekend parties (XXXperience, Tribe, Kaballah), festivals (Solaris), meeting points (Galeria Ouro Fino), DJs (Mack, Rica, V.O.R., Du Serena) and lives (Wrecked Machines, Hypercepthiom, Mad Haters). Brasília and Goiânia stomp at the inner core, with lives (Burnin Noise, The First Stone, Yagé, Baphomet Engine), DJs (Swarup, Pedrão) and festivals (Trancendence, Tranceformation). Seismic activity is registered in Belo Horizonte (pioneered by DJ Celso and Ciano, now playing Android, Gui, Aycram and Pin. Lives: Stereographic. Festival: Cachoeira Alta). Along the coast, earth shakes in Rio (DJs Fluorenzo and Matera; 220v, Minimal Criminal and Glocal lives, Wild Artists crew, big parties as Euphoria and problems with authorities) and Vitória (DJs Kali, Santiago and E-lise; Casa da Índia, Soul Vibes and Ecologic crews). On the south, rising vibrations in Joinville, Florianópolis and Porto Alegre. In Coritiba, the ground trembles with Sothis and Tribaltech crews, DJ Rodrigo CPU, Oxyd, Swe Dagon and Spectral Skunk lives and an e-music academy (AIMEC). On the north, the scene stares new horizons. Bahia is rocking: DJ JP and summer parties in Trancoso; Universo Paralello on new year´s eve and Soononmoon plus ten others crews resonating alien soundscapes in Salvador. Going up, respect to Aracaju scene (Eletromotrixx) along Recife (After Dreams and Liquid Sky), Natal, Fortaleza, Teresina, São Luís and Belém.

To keep going, brazilian trance scene should look inside. In the coming years, the good harvest depends on opening our senses to the rich ground. To seed positive attitude and realize our mixed nature means gathering more original psychedelic music and culture on the future.

Facts Box

· Brazil is the 5th largest world nation, the 8th world economy and number one in contradictions. Chaos and beauty, wealth and poverty, black and white (and yellow, indians and hybrids too), jungle and concrete, beach and mountain, cold and heat, carnival fantasy and hard life. That´s Brazil. Here, reality and surreality coexist on 190 millions hearts and minds.

· Almost a continent, this giant means South America minus The Andes. Great biodiversity and weather varieties. Travelling through it by car or bus is not good due to bad road conditions. One can find good plane tickets prices.

· The current left-wing government is lessening the social unequality and improving the economic situation.

· The drug policies are slowly changing too (more light to users and heavier to dealers).

· TV, soccer and mosquitoes rule the nation.

· Music and dance is everywhere. Carnival is the brazilian people´s apotheosis.

· Chatolic, afro and even psychonautic beliefs keep the faith in Brazil

· Actually, no earthquakes, hurricanes or volcanoes registered in Brazil.

rao!

some explanation is necessary. for the trancers guide, there were only 3.000 characters for the brazilian text. on the original text, i wrote more than 5.000 characters. the text you see on this topic was the second or third edition and it´s not yet what was published on the magazine, that was a even smaller edition made by the mushroom / chaishop crew in germany and left out several good names too. sorry, but it´s out of my control. therefore, there was no personal taste involved. i got the help from many persons around brazil and tried to give the best and useful coverage i could.

as we are facing here some problems with dudes and live acts that were not included on this final version, i think the best way to be fair it´s to post the original text, including several DJs, live acts and people who were out the final edition.

Get a life on the silicon jungles of Brazil.

The brazilian trance civilization is in fast development on this multi-racial country where music and dance is everywhere. Exotic landscapes, surreal temporary autonomous zones and freak party-animals make one of the strongest trance scenes around the world. Here, trance pumps hard from Oiapoque to Chuí. Bring your smile but keep an eye open: you´re in the jungle.

Brazil as a nation was born on a Bahia beach. Brazilian trance scene as a (sub) culture was born at the same shores, under the same deep blue sky and heavenly landscapes, 500 years after the portugueses first arrived. The new silicon squadron brought an international jet set in love with the warm breeze blowing this side of Atlantic. The Arraial d`Ajuda – Trancoso axis, south of Bahia state, at its golden times gathered aliens, freaks and nativos on surreal endless summers under coconut trees, loaded with mad and free open air parties, green communion sense and ultraviolet vibrations. That was the time of Max Lafranconi, Alba, Michelli and many others original freaks. With more parties than grains of sand, Trancoso is the brazilian Goa since early 90´s, blooming the psychedelic trance culture through Brazil.

When you think Brazil, you think gigantic. Every year after the summer season in Trancoso, the aliens returned home and triggered their own trance scenes on brazilian major cities. What followed was the birth of a huge ever growing and pulsating beast. Psytrance is now heard along all Brazil, with big and very professional festivals, lots of outdoor parties, friendly and beautiful people, a solid nightclub agenda, high demand for DJs, lives and deco teams and an intense sound / culture interchange.

There´s heavy tectonic trance activity around all Brazil crust. The epicenter is São Paulo. The grey hive pumps trance all year long, monday to monday: clubby vibes during the week (Klatu, Club A, Psybreja, Manga Rosa), big weekend gatherings (XXXperience, Tribe, Kaballah), festivals (Solaris), meeting points (Galeria Ouro Fino), fine DJs (Mack, V.O.R., Rica Amaral, Feio, Teko, Du Serena, Paulinha & Janczur, Tati, Smurf) and lives (Wrecked Machines, Mukunga Umbura, Hyperceptiohm, Neo Vox, Cannibal Barbecue, Mad Haters). Brasília and Goiânia stomp at the inner core, bringing some dopey lives (Burnin Noise, The First Stone, Killer Buds, Dizzy Mind, Yagé, Baphomet Engine, Cosmotech), DJs (Swarup, Pedrão, Sequipa, Morus, Ekanta) and festivals (Trancendence, Tranceformation). Seismic activity is also registered in Belo Horizonte (pioneered by DJ Celso along Ciano. Now playing Android, Gui, Zaidan, Aycram and Pin. Lives: Stereographic, Puzzle and Patchbay. Festival: Cachoeira Alta). Along the coast, there are sonic earthquakes in Rio (DJs Fluorenzo and Matera; Minimal Criminal, Orbital Vision and Glocal live acts, Wild Artists crew, big parties as Euphoria and some problems with authorities) and Vitória (DJs Kali, Santiago and E-lise; Casa da Índia, Soul Vibes and Ecologic crews). On the south, the ground shakes on Coritiba, arranged by Sothis and Tribaltech with DJs Rodrigo CPU, André Hahel and lives as Oxyd, Swe Dagon and Spectral Skunk, along an e-music academy (AIMEC). The vibration continues in Porto Alegre (Psy Extreme), Florianópolis (E-sence e Neurotika) and Joinville (Stereos and Octoplay). Up to the north, there is underground sonic activity above Trancoso (DJ JP, System Brothers and lots of summer parties), where sun shines and the scene stares new horizons. In Bahia happens Universo Paralello Festival on new year´s eve with huge international line-up. Salvador, an old and afro-mystical city, resonates alien soundscapes with Soononmoon crew and ten others. Going up, respect to the Aracaju scene (Eletromotrixx) along Recife (After Dreams and Liquid Sky crews; DJs Pateta and Vorax), Natal (DJ Brown), Fortaleza, Teresina, São Luís and Belém.

To keep going, brazilian trance scene should look inside. In the coming years, the good harvest depends on opening our senses to the rich ground. To seed positive attitude and realize our mixed nature means gathering more original psychedelic music and culture on the future.
