I am realllllllyyyyy looking forward to this.... especially since it will be the first time i have been to 'the north'..... shocking it is true:)

maybe some people will come up from manchester? heather and biggins?

what is the deal with the progressive people and spelling? I think 'didgital' is how he spells it, like humphrey put... Also with medium now being midjum or something...... Well i guess the latter is for the same reasons as tip becoming tip world.

Bim has changed medium's name for some copyright matters. But tip declared bankrupsy and started a new company called tip world.

The West Indian Centre is a really good venue - its a small/medium community centre that has the most relaxed secutity (one or two smiling blokes at the door) you're likely to come across. Its the main venue in Leeds for underground parties (Cabbage - a psy trance/acid techno night, Riffraff - hard trance + funky house night and Subdub -a heavy dub night being the other main parties there).

Looks like a good line up & may try and get up there.

I just never thought I'd get threatened on the uk page of the isratrance forum. There's been some nasty goings on on the 'who's got the most burnt cds' forum but here in the gecko thread....jon really...

Only kidding just wanted to express continued excitement about Peter coming to play again.

holy crap i enjoyed this party a lot!!

The main things that stood out were the exceptional music and incredible decor...

I am not kidding these were the most professional looking drapes I have ever seen and everyone was in awe. Quite something for a few bits of cloth! Peter D. brought them over from Sweden but I have forgotten the name of the artist... you know how the cover of Cosmosis's Synergy was taken from the drape in the EQ? well Intergalactic was taken from one of these drapes (a guess but I think I am correct), but that particular hanging was not even my favourite. No cheesy fractals or mushrooms in sight hoorah!

there was some problems with the sound at the beginning and there was a lot of gnashing of teeth over the vinyl setup, but by the time P. Didjital came on the problems had evaporated and we were treated to a great set of exactly the kind of music I currently enjoy...

by the way jesus christ I am looking forward to the arrival of the son kite album next year.... heard the whole thing over the weekend and every tune is a winner... it is surely gonna join ticon, vibrasphere, phony orphants on the mount olympus of progressive artist albums!!! hmmm

Humphrey came on after peter and played a great set... the best set I have seen from him but it is true that I have usually only seen him play chillout! I think there were some older tunes mixed in there somewhere which I really enjoyed, but I wouldnt swear to it cos maybe they were remixes and I am clueless I dunno.

party ended at 4 or so IIRC... the west indian centre is an awesome venue and the only place Ive been to where the security contribute to the enjoyment of the party...one security dude was up on the stage egging everyone on during the final tune and it wasnt annoying but genuinely funny:)

well all in all i had a fantastic weekend up in leeds... vast quantities of beer were drunk and I met some lovely new folks and friends Id met earlier in the summer.... I am extremely grateful to everyone for their hospitality....

Cheers especially humphrey and simon (if you read this which i dont think is the case?), peter and richard

glad you made it and glad enjoyed it Jon, to be honest i didn't know what you would make of this party as you are spoilt for line-ups and parties in london so how could we compete.........but....
i can honestly say that gecko is just getting better and better. each party the set-up and energies are getting better and better....

..and lloyd (the security guy u mentioned) is the nicest "bouncer" i have ever come across

looking forward to the next one.......and i don't even know when it is....

Good to hear it went well - had good intentions - but then got persuaded to go to Iration Steppas/dub allnighter in sheffield and in the end had few beers after work & never made it out anywhere... (how slack..??)

The Windy Centre is a really nice venue with the most relaxed security you're likely to find. Hope you did all right numbers wise as theres been a lot of stuff on there (mostly mediocre techno nights)and some nights have been suffering a bit as theres only so many party goers in Leeds to spread around.

Hope theres another one soon

good to see you there biggins! but tsk tsk to heather!!

yeah i had been told it was gonna be packed to the rafters so I was a bit apprehensive... in the end there was a good number of people there.

I remembered something critical I forgot to mention. The beer was unbelievably cheap! I know beer is cheaper outside london, but 1 pound 90 for a pint in a club? Holy cow it was cheaper in the west indian centre than in the Leeds pubs! This was good news.
