Artist: GBU
Title: Wanted
Label: Twisted

(pasted from the twisted site)
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly aka GBU are Frederic Holyszewski (Dado, Deedrah), Serge Souque (Total Eclipse) & Dimitri Nakov (Dj Dimitri).
These are some of the serious heavyweights in the scene who have been laying down dancefloor law across the globe for over a decade.
They’ve probably got 50 years of experience between them. It shows too with unparalleled production and comprehensive, clear musical ideas that have been refined over the last ten years.

Tracklist

1_Boing
2_Mum & Dad
3_Side Chain Reaction
4_DDDR&B
5_Guided Bomb Unit
6_Pura Vida Interlude
7_Quick Bounce
8_Universe
9_Scarface Market
10_Scope ( GBU & Shanti )
11_Fuse
12_GBU Theme

1- Boing
nice start'A! mmmmBoing
big Dado influence if you ask me_rock solid base
crispy sparks in the middle of the track; allocated far away in the mix..somewhere behind the wall _or when you listen to it on headphones : tickling your scalp
this one is a bit static but for sure a nice and rock solid production as already mentioned.

2- Mum & Dad
i would really like to know how they came to the idea naming this track mum&dad
this one starts like an energizer.. with nice atmosphere and melodic background
followed by a twisted punch in of the 3 mariachi's groove
it grows n' grows till the atmosphere of the beginning shows up again to swirl a bit higher_takes you on a certain level, drops you again; ending in a catchy build up..
tadaaaa final spurt

3- Side Chain Reaction
no need of an intro_this track starts with a fundamental basement. was it their intention to have this resonating lowend; or is it just on my copy? the resonance of the kick in this track keeps me spinning_sometimes it sounds like there is also an EQ'd resonance on some bass notes_well done!
great allocation of the single sounds in the stereo image_it's ALIVE
curious to know how it sounds on a big PA
move ya Panorama! great swirls from left to right - right to left - left/right to center ..
3:59 till the end, for me the best part of the track_sound after sound..morphing..with a cool depth and a climax like...no words ..pliing > drop out

4- DDDR&B
time traveling to 2003? i guess that this track has been played on almost every festival in 2003..at least once
and now they deliver us this rmx. beams me back to my summer season memories
they kept the drive of the original track and added some funky stuff _
crispy fresh rmx bluuub bluuub bluuub

5- Guided Bomb Unit
starting with some "blockbuster background atmosphere" _then it begins to flow and this analog'ish sounding wobbly filter synth hits the spot_goody
3:04 nice build up with a "hiding" melody_starting to get clearer _kick'n in and one just wish (at least me) that this melody comes in again and starts to spin higher and clearer..no
but; no worries, it goes on funky
4:28..i really like this part..probably because of the panning
long end of the session with a sweet sounding "drumset"

6- Pura Vida Interlude
what to say_nice samples_pura vida hermanos
siempre bienvenido < now this should be the statement of every festival organizer for the next summer or this winter_Frederic, Serge and Dimitri : you guys are more than welcome in my playlist.
amigos .mi casa e su casa

7- Quick Bounce
great start of the track_if you ask me what track i would listen to while bungee jumping - this one dunno why_
elastic : stretching sounds in my ears
really like the work in the percussion section of this track_
nice panning

8- Universe
well:. there is no medium in space that allows to spread sound waves
BUT -if the universe would sound like this track_then: beam me up scotty
starts with a huge phat bassline_ aggressive but not violent
this is one of the "more static" tracks on the album_ deep groove and always in the flow

9- Scarface Market
bass_ now what do you expect? Yes you'll get it!
once again a really nice allocation in the stereo image
some sounds remind me a bit of the Headware album by Logic Bomb
nice dreamy atmosphere around 4:45 and then slaaaap here we go again
this track has a really nice arrangement

10- Scope (GBU & Shanti)
i like the opening of this tarck -freaky
this Guiro sound around 1:15 is lovely_ wish it would appear more often in the mix
overall this is one of the slower groovers on the cd_somehow it recalls track 1 and 3 on Shanti's album "A Machine's Dream" in my mind

11- Fuse
yeah, every cd has an end n' we are close..
a slow groover again_i kinda miss the story of this one
but still 10 times better than most of the shit that is coming out of the PA's nowadays

12- GBU Theme
a nature sounds atmospheric outro with a well known melody
The End

final statement :
this cd is worth every penny, cent,....whatever.
the day i received it i heard it 3 times in a row _and fuck No..you won't get tired.
for me the album has a great track arrangement and an overall good arrangement in every track.
with the old GBU sound (like the "mescalito" track for example) and at the same time freezing fresh.
i had high expectations in this album and they were completely fulfilled.
let me give you a better picture :
set up a PA in the yard of a home for old people, cd into the drive and push play_
you'll see crutches flying around and the folk will ask if they could get the pills for next week in advance.

Groove, Funk, Bass and Energy_ don't waste time : one can say it easily - GBU

favorite tracks > 3 < 2 / 4 / 7 />8< / 9 / 10

rating : a clear 10/10 from my side
maybe my opinion is influenced because i listened to it under amazing crystal clear conditions..monitors and headphones
anyway : this one is ROCK SOLID

Twisted never disapoints us.
Always top quality production.

Another great release, just like the last Kox Box album.

As for the last track... what a nice flashback it was.

Regards!

I've not owned such a consistantly brilliant cd since....for too long.

Is really quite hard to belive how many first rate tunes there are on this album.

6 years in the making and no fillers what so ever.

This album will keep me inspired for a long time.

Favourites - Pretty much all of them.

Thankyou Deedrah, Serge, Dimitri and Twisted.

10/10?....probably.

From the samples this cd sounds like a must have, with many different ideas expressed in a way such that they make sense. Very tempting...

I did...by chance in the Twisted party in London, I was so overwhelmed by the music that...there I was, standing...not even able to move, by far the most impressive live-act I've ever heard...congratulations...to the 3 of you!!!
