Whoooooooaaaaaa!!!!!!!

what a party to kick off the outdoor season!

lineup was:
Lish
DJ Gabbi
BLT & Makov - live
DJ Shane Gobi (Alchemy rec)
and me

It was near a beautifull lake in Ramat Hagolan, the weather was perfect, the ppl were great and showed up in large numbers (early estimates are around 2k), the sound was ok (only 2.5 turbo systems) but reasonable and the music was spot on.

we got there at 1.00 and Lish were in the begining of their set wich was nice and not as aggressive as expected but was a great warm up for the crowd.
Gabbi gave a very good sunrise set, and Yuli and Makov drove the crowd crazy with a pumping and full of energy performance.
Shane Gobi stayed true to his nickname Harotseach (the killer) and gave a great full on set, flawlessly mixed and great selection of tunes and I closed the party with a few mellower, more melodic tunes and knocked off with a few more full on numbers.

when the sun came up we climbed a little hill and had a panoramic view of the party and said "ahhhh, this is how a trance party should look like, this is why we keep going to these events". After the long winter we had with so many club gigs and events, this party was exactly what was needed to revive the spirit.

Great orgenising from the team and not a blue uniform in sight.

great party indeed

we arrived at about 4:00 i think, when gabbi was playing. he played a really nice set just when the sun was coming up.
and then, yuli (and danny), you rocked!!!
amazing set, i kept dancing the whole time. one time i even thought (ridicilously) that there was a generator problem, and then danny hit the drums and yuli kicked back in....such a great set.
afterwards, the english guy which i know his name now thanks to guy, with a really powerful set. such amazing tracks - prodigy's Voodoo people remix - amazing!!! (can someone tell me its name? thanx)
after Shane came guy with one of my favorite tracks from Amalgamated.., and calmed things down a bit. sorry to leave in the middle, i was barely standing so had to go (and drive for 3 hours..)

overall, great party, great people, great location (though we had a bit of trouble getting out of it having driven the other way because of the pkak, and going thru some rough road - i guess for tanks ), great sound and great djs (and drummers). the party had no problem (i think) whatsoever, not from the generator nor the police.

real delight

I got to the place with a friend of mine after a hard drive through some roads both of us knew from our military (the APC marks on the road to the party were more than noticeable, hence the road's poor condition), and then even more driving on the dirt road which was also not in the best condition, as well as a parking space that was basically in the middle of a field with vegetation around one meter tall. After finally parking, we took a (long) walk to the party location, just to see a very well done setup, the decoration was minimal yet very well done, the sound system was well mastered (not the usual 'treble and bass' mastering that we often get in parties, but allowing a much more full sound), the chill out area was big enough to contain a lot of people, and as usual in the Gabi&Twins productions - a small tent city around the area itself.

A lot of people familiar from parties in the north - a lot of the good faces I haven't seen in ages, as well as a few ones that I'd rather forget, but those were a small minority there. A few kids, but that's more than OK in this case, added a bit of diversity to the crowd which is always good. Lots of smiling faces, very few that seemed out of place, and that's the most important bit.

Some ugly things did happen - my friend found his blanket missing (he brought it with him from Africa, after 11 months there), only to find it later on a girl, who asked him to prove that it was his, after telling him she brought it from home, but that ended well (even though it really ruined the vibe of the party for my friend). A few other small things like that happened, and that's a shame, but no big problems happened there that I know of. No real troublemakers.

Well, I got there to some soft progressive tunes, a bit too fluffy for me but very smooth stuff. Gabbi came on with a storm, starting to give some very pounding full-on, leaving all the remnants of fluffiness behind. The sun started coming up, giving a view of the beautiful location, and what was all hills and road on the way there appeared in green and yellow. The set went a lot more my way from Tranan - Preacher Boy and on, that's when I finally started feeling the morning in the music and all around me.

Yuli and Danny Makov gave their best live up to date from what I have seen in the past few years. A lot of energy, strond dancefloor grooves, but it was a shame that Makov really shone through only in the breaks - allowing him to do a more complete percussion set in the middle of the track (not his usual limitation to hihats/crashes as in most of this live act) would have added a lot more power. Very good on the dancefloor, very flowing, and the distinct BLT sound gave this a very special feeling.

I heard the beginning of Shane Gobi's set, and it was just absolutely fantastic, but I had to leave (my brother had a birthday, even a really good party isn't an excuse to being late to that). Again, Gabbi & the Twins show why they have built their name of organizing the best parties in Israel - there are no complaints whatsoever to the organizing crew (well, maybe the same party with a more intimate crowd would have been even better, but that's not really a complaint).           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I decided to go to that party altough I was very tired, and I'm not sorry I did

I got there at 2:00~, and Lish were playing.
They played good (and very fluffy) stuff like Ticon (lots of tracks from their new album, I stopped counting at 5 ),Haldolium and Segment 01. For some reason I didn't connect to their set, maybe because I wasn't in the mood for fluffy stuff (after I listened to it at home the same day ).
in the middle of Lish's set I took a little nap in nature, and came back when Gabi was playing some full onish stuff which was nice, but I was waiting for Yuli and Danny to come up
Yuli and Danny gave one of the best live sets I've ever heard - lots of energy and power were involved, people were jumping and waving their hands in the air out of happiness, a very pleasant sight to see
After them came Shane Gobi who prooved his skill as an excellent DJ. His set was mostly composed of his label's music as I understood, which was good non-standard full on. Watch out for Alchemy Records
After Shane came Guy Shanti. I heard some his set but then I had to leave

Other points I'd like to mention:
Location - A beautiful place in Ramat Hagolan, just perfect.
Sound - Was very good, there is always some room for improvment
Crowd - 2000 people... What is it? A festival? MTV party? Way too much.
I've had some very unpleasant situation with two people (let's call them arsim...) who asked me to take their picture (and I did), and then took my camera (not by force, luckily). After a few minutes I mannaged to take it back (not by force, luckily, again).
After that I didn't really want to dance anymore and it pretty much ruined my partying experience.

It was nice to see Mikol,Eitan(Fatali) and of course Yuli and Shane.
Kaz, I didn't see you there

All is all a great party from Gabi and Twins, it was fun altough I was too tired for heavy dancing
I took some pictures, which will be scaned and uploaded somewhere in the next few days

Timmy

P.S - Lots of smilies here... hmmm...

sounds like it was a great party after all... 2 bad i couldnt make it. its hard to cross the country

but you know, those little things that Timmy and kaz were talking about (the arsim accident and that thing with the girl who took ur blanket) can realy ruin the spirit. although the mind is in a differed place those ugly things are hurting the good vibes, and it takes a while to get back...
some ppl need to learn how to behave!
but the good thing is that most of the ppl are happy and beautyful and the music is great!

you kids have fun !
and dont let anythng brake ya!

(sure not a hard drive kaz, everytime its hard when its far away, and everytime its worth it )

Oh, I forgot to mention that when I was about to go home, I came back to find my bag opened, as if somebody was looking for something valuable to steal.
Luckily I only had my sleeping bag and earplugs there, which were not stolen.

That was one hell of party .. like it should be on IDay! 2000 ppl in most beautiful location - when the sun was about to rise i felt the place is going to explode. it's kinda hard now to put things in chronological order - so in general : music - i liked everything that was playing there , with an accent on Gabi's set and BLT's second part ... the sound was powerful enough and pretty clean .. the location - to remember !! ppl - well , imho u can't pray for a better crowd .. like shanti said - this how trance party should look like and i will add : trance party at independence day coz to me somehow the vibe and the spirit of ID in a trance party is pretty much special , probably because my first outdoor happened to be exactly 2 years ago (with same Twins of course ) . I enjoyed it from the start till the moment we had to leave , the heeeaavy traffic on the way out even caused me to state that some car on the horizon is a police one(i saw some weired stuff that morning) - but nope , not even a smell of our friends in blue - one more h"h to the organaizers . the only small bummer - a loss of a hat i found at Samothraki .. but i'll find another one great party , thanks for the vibe ppl

I found that the best way to deal with this issue is to come with tents. Most of the bad guys avoid looking inside of the tents. Their logic is quite simple: if it's laying on the ground in open space then it belongs to noone and could be stolen.

The party was great. The music was increadible and the scenary awesome           It's all in your mind...
