what do u mean by that?
Unfortunately, most of the times, the "rave" (as they call them) parties/festivals are not well organised! Sometimes there are not official permissions and usually such festival are the place to deal illegal substances....As far we will keep on organising such events without changing our attitude we will have that kind of problems....
I can't immagine goverments becoming more flessible with such points as drugs...Actually the it is the opposite! I am sure you remember before a couple of years what happent to your country (Greece) when the police busted the SDF !
We have to change attitude! We can not go further more in this way any longer . . .
And of course the blaiming should go to the party/festival organisers that they don't provide to the crownd a safe party/festival location! Most of them are lousy entrepreneurs that are looking only to short term profits...!

well, the specific czechtek fest had all the necessery permission to be held, plus it's being held every year for 12 years now and yet... bang!
secondly i believe that the SDF was not first-person intefeered; police did the searching in ports like peireas, kavala, alexandroupoli. there anyone could possesed drugs n stuff, whether he was to come in SDF or not, it was just a typical way of cops doing their job...
moreover, in SDF periods cops have not invaded fest's territory and did not smack or deadly beat anybody.

I agree with you in everything!
My point here is that "we" have to change attitude! If we want to have fun and festivals and parties and dancing...and everything we MUST change the way we act!
Unfortunately, last years, the international policy regarding "free parties" has changed and it is more strict in every country around the globe! We are no longer "new age hippies" and we can not be in the "western societies"...if you know what I mean.
We like it or not, we have to find alternatives on how to organise such events without being bothered from the authorities.....one good way to achieve this is to collaborate closely with them! ("If you can not win your enemy, then make sure becomes a friend")
That's all....

yea, ok. i'm sorry i didn't get your point instantly..
i agree with you also, and i think that's not impossible to happen; it's just organizer must start a mass action on different attitude and then the party-goers will just follow.
i'm happy to see that there are some fests organizing several activities apart from the main music-subject... that seems and IS more cultural even to us as it is to other 'spectators' from outside of our community.
but on the contrary most organizers' (not all of 'em) main concern is just how to have a nice time, make money, earn respect and sell drugs... (..or not?)

Sad....but TRUE !
The point in this whole situation is the mentality of the "party-goers"...I ve met a lot of nice people in several festivals that enjoy to do some "stuff" but from the other side I ve seen loads of people that the main reason of attending a party is the usage of illegal substances....!
This MUST change! otherwise we will always have same kind of problems...PERIOD!

drugs are everywhere! i dont think that is the reason for them to bust us. They just use it as "a reason" (aformh in greek..). The true reason, i believe is the music. They are afraid of the "open-mind(ness)". In places where Vandi and Vissi sing (local pop "stars") drugs are there too! But they dont bust them! Cause their music is "guiding" the ppl. its like a mass-control weapon. Its not bad to smoke a joint or eat a shroom (personal opinion and only for myself...) in a party but i hate when they care only about that. I agree that a lot of ppl are going to parties to do drugs only and they dont care for the music (those people suxx) and it would be nice if they wasnt there.
I hope that eventually some day we will making parties with no fear about cops.-

I agree with you that drugs are everywhere!
Fromthe other hand I don't agree that the authorities want to bother us just because this music can "open" your mind! (Wich I believe that every kind of music can set you mindset in another level).
and of course in commercial clubs/parties there are a lot of drugs and prostitution.....but as you can see the organisers, most of the times are well known entrepreneurs and they have good links/contacts with the authorities...!
so, maybe, we can learn something from them and use theie BusinessModel to organise "clear" events as well......
