it's a mid way between progressive and full on. that's the definition i guess. it s just a subgenre..

hehe.. it s funny that Full on now is a big issue by itself. so the subgenre has another subgenre.. and the family tree grows even bigger.
the first time i read this word when reviewing the new C.O.N.Sequencer Album, which is not quite a full on album.

I think neo fullon is more serious music they change the name so to make a difference which i think it ought to be. For example i used to like that which i thought was called fullon so i talk to people i like fullon you know, people used to think i like GMS, or shanti you know fullon hehehehe of course i liked a different fullon not commercial stuff so i sort of could not communicate what i really like. Neo fullon is more like Silicon sound stuff with a deeper serious atmosphere and really nice soundscapes and melodies! It's trance!

is astrix from the red or green door school of neo ultra goa dance dance full on trance pants music?

and do we really put mekkanikka cpu and sirius isness in the same bucket just because they used to be in Biodegradable together?

we can leave the buckets behind and use mixing bowls instead but would you really put eskimo in the same bowl as rinkadink and would you smoke them both together in the same chillum mix?

different times for different tastes...
different music, forget the categories...

i think that full-on is an adjective, not a noun.

however, in todays parlance it means anything where the bassline does pentatonic 1 bar blues riffs over and over again with a little fill after every 8 bars.
killah is like monotone but every 16th note except the kick, progressive/scando is monotone 8th note opposite the kick with the high hat...

hahahahahahaha....
but i still say- "the modern melodies are stripped down, more cheesy, clubby, etc. and not spiritual like the old school goa full on "

we need more tracks in 3/4...
that rolling sound... you know...

marketing is the answer and that is a good idea, only to me the prefix neo is always followed in my mind by "nazis" so i dont think the marketing works on me.

If you think about nazi's each time you hear the word Neo than The Matrix must've been hell for you. My God man, you're kidding me here I hope? I really agree! And, even tough some groups play alot with the bassline (wich I love), I think that more ppl should care about the kick too!

aha? and Cheesy full on is marketing too?
no, it's only a way to identify a style

this seems me adequate

I do not understand the problem that exist a good way to identify the different styles of full on, serves to be precise...

as far as i know, 'neo-' means all the fullon stuff of today in case of makin a difference between the fullon psychedelic stuff and goa-trance which was plaid up to 1998 before the big proggy and scando wave swapped around the world and laid down as fullon started to grow again. but i realy also think that different persons/djs use the definition of 'neofullon' in different ways, so all the discussion is nearly ad absurdum.

I agree 100 %
