Don't use samples, make your kicks, samples are made by someone, not by aliens.... use synths with advanced envelopes (come to my mind fm8 or karmafxsynth) and work at 176400 Hz.
Why advanced envelopes?
Because ADSR isn't enough to achieve the right amp and pitch.
Why 176400?
Because in general you can't reach a "44100 Hz quality" working at 44100, specifically for kicks you need at least 176400 Hz for a good attack.
Example: 3 kicks without eq, without compression.... only pitch and amp modulation, the first at 176 (downsampled to 44100 with r8brain), 2nd at 88 (downsampled to 44100 with r8brain), 3rd at 44100 -> http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/1SST1LDI/176_88_44_test.wav_links www.thepriest.site11.com - Freeware plugins |
