Well, i know that this thread is probably going 2 look very agressive and offensive 2 some people, but it think it is time some1 will say it!
I am addiccted 2 trance music, i love it on all the aspects and all the defenitions of love. From the proggressive housy music (Minilogue 4 example.) through the harsh Tech-Trance (3.Turn 4 Example) and the melodic trance (Astrix 4 example) to the psychedelia of trance (Fungus funk 4 example).
But i have a problem, with this industry, community and labels....(from now on this thread will not include any names!!!)
Full on is conquerin' this scene and is whipin' out all that is left. all the labels that once claimed 2 b unique and different is releasin' full on music. The SAME full on music on all labels! and the absurd is that they claim that they release a "unique style of full on", or as u people here say more often these days "neo-full on"! i mean what the...????
I know that the industry is dyin' that people dont buy cd's (heck, i even dl sometimes cause i dont have money 2 buy all the CD's i wanna) but did u c undergroung groups from other genres switchin' their music 2 hip-hop just 2 sell more CD's?
If u r not unique, and u r not sure that u will sufficant sales 2 survive or even make a little profit than dont open a label! 2day the scene is flooded with new labels that go by the "slogans" - "Unique and innovative music!" but than they release the usual commercial stuff (i have no problem with commercial, i have all the GMS, Astrix etc. CD's!!)...
it is really startin' 2 b annoyin'! people r openin' labels just so that they can have a reason 2 ask people 4 unreleased music! this is stupid!
I am not askin' u people 2 do anythin', just think about it.....

Have an excellent year!!!!

we've thought about it - trust me...
and still there are those labels - I don't think we can do something about it by only thinking.

case stays the case.

some people see the scene as a chance to make a few bucks.
Others are in the scene because it's cool or something else....
and there are those who's lives were changed because of the scene - and those are the ppl who really care as to what will happen to the music and the labels.

cheers.

So true. So true.
This full on is so saturated the scene but the problem is not the full on. The problem is that there's hardly any alternative.
You can either go to harder full on (no thanx) or you can go to softer trance with noticeable wink to club realms or you can take the dust off your favorite tip (not .world) records or perhaps your favorite trust in trance cd's and remember the good times.

Or you can buy only the music you like and hear stuff from other genres as well.
Rock never sounded interesting like it does for me right now.

totally agree, kenneth, couldnt have said it better myself, latest example is ZMA, now releasing "neo full-on" after a long history of cool progressive psy releases.           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

I Think it has to be this way, all the record companies are trying to get some of the good money that can be earned. I think you're right though.....its becomming a sad story

Its somewhat in your hands to save the music you really love. keep buying the cd's from the artists you like, the label you like and you will contribute to the variety in the scene.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

i agree
maybe it also has something to do with the attitude of people that go to psytrance-parties....

drugs for instance (hopefully this is spelled right )

So much unnecessary anger. You just have to listen to it before you buy.
The problem is, you can't satisfy everyone's taste and it is very "untrance" like to put down someone's taste or art. I don't like minimal too much, but you didn't hear me complaining on here during the Minimal wave a few years back. Why? Because it wasn't my taste, but someone else liked it, so I truly respected that. We are trancers. Not minimalist and Full-On'ers. We're all trancers. Respect everyone.

Kenneth, I can talk onlyfor myself.. So not everyone sells out.. And like in every genre of music, u should look hard to find the innovators / soul musicians and not the imitators.

I think Cyber Punk wrote it nicely in some thread. It is really not about the type of trance, since there is excellent full on music and excellent progressive releases and there are those releases that are not - so dig and find what u like!!!           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

and i think that there r diffrent styles of full on .
you can`t compare the south africans to the israeliens....or the brits for that matter.........
expect for those gms wanna b`s .... which realy sound all the same. it`s just a matter of finding the good thing as yuli said. and it happens in any genre of music that goes commercial and succsesful. loads of shit start coming out but there r still those who innovate and explore... their just harder to spot between all the shit. and if you noticedgood quality music doesn`t go unnoticed (good phrase i must say). and artist who deserve recognition get it. even if they don`t sell lots of cd`s.           if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

But isnt it good for a change?I am sure Full On wont be around for a long time in terms of popularity, someone innovative will come up with something. Check sub6 out, I dont know how to describe his work, its amazing...what genre is that? But I couldnt agree with you more Kenneth

1st of i really wanna reply 2 Yuli.
Dude, i didnt say names because i dont wanna offend any1! thats y didnt say the artists which i think that innovate!
There r lots of true musicians out there that really blow me away and surprise me in every track they release!
2nd of all, i wanted 2 reply 2 Uncle Bob - dude i love full on! i really do! a trance party without even at least an hour of full on is like eatin' a krembo and skip the cookie!
my complaints r'nt about Full on music, its about people tryin' 2 sell their stuff by sayin' "innovative", "different" and so on, while its all the same... the releases that go out these days (not all of them - I again will not give names!) sound like the stuff that was released 2 and 3 years ago by the bigger labels when that was "innovative"!
I was askin' 4 a change, not a witch hunt of "full-oners"!!!!!           "...God made weed, Man made booze. Who do u trust?..."
