every sound has it own equalization and it varies depending on how u want it..

u must consider that every sound is touching each other aswell..

equalization is very subjective aswell, imo           I want a spare brain.... or 2.

Do you use a mac or a PC ?           "Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth."
Neo: "What truth?"
Spoon Boy: "There is no spoon."

bellow 40 hz there are only junk frequences that u ll make ur mix dirty...so u cut it in many ways..u can cut with filters or can cut with equalizers notch or with shelves....

but when u are cuttin u gotta be careful with 2 things...

first : u may cut important frequencies for the bass together...so be realy minimalistic and specific in those cuts..and watch if they aint removin the power of ur bass

and the second thing is if u are cutin with a filter u may add resonance that u dont want...

many people here in isratrance advice people to let those cuts to be done by the master engener coz once u cut it will be removed and cant give them back..but if u have it in EXCESSS ... the master enginer can always fix it.....

BUT u prob doesnt plan to send ur track to the master enginer atm so my advice is instead of doin those big cuts just a do a realy small cut in 20hz - 25 - 30 hz with a shelve or notch equalizer just to make ur mix a little more clean so u keep producin ur track without those dirty frequencies...

Depends on the synth, the fundamental frequency of your bassline, the HPF's slope/Q setting and root note. C1 is 32.7Hz, I would not high-pass a tune with a bassline at C1 (obviously you can go at lower notes, but C1 is not uncommon) so high.
Have a play to see what sounds best. You need good speakers/room for this tho.

Peace out.

Its not exactly a "correction", especially regarding psy-trance tunes. You could drop the fundamental enough to get most of the bass from the first overtone, in case of the C1 approx. 65Hz. But playing about with things and trying various combos is what will get you from point A to point B and learn a few things in the process.

Peace out.

hahaahha 'cut below 40hz and youre good to go', wish it was all that simple.

Essentialy the most important thing is to tune you're kick within the same frequency range of the bassline, then eq to your liking, and make sure youre dont have the kick peaking on the same frequencies as the bass cause you will muddy the groove and it wont sound clean.
