C'mon everyone. Let's get shpongled and row around the lake in the middle of the night. Let's go an a long hike and not come back. Let's stare into the fire at sunset as the frequencies resonate through the hills. Let's just do nothing but DANCE.

Drove out there with a friend and some more friends.
Got there around 8:30 PM. It was a wonderful drive about 1 and a half hours from the valley. Loved the scenery and things all around. By the time we got there it was almost dark. Seemed like a hit. So many cars. Didnt manage to go inside because they wanted $20. I didnt think it was worth $20 for 1 & 1/2 hours of music. So we just hung out around there, smoked chilled... Had a good time. Got back into the valley/home by around 10:30 PM. Anyone got some pics from the day? Would love to see them.

I ultimately decided to leave early Saturday morning. I arrived around 9:15AM. They hadn't started yet and I was glad I didn't miss anything. It gave me time to take in the amazing location and beautiful scenery. I couldn't believe I was in southern CA.
Medicine Drum soon took the stage and got the crowd up and out of their tents. Slowly the dancers made their way to the grassy area (yeah, grass! not dirt) in front of the stage. The percussion ignited the vibe which only grew relentlessly from that point on.
Space Cat took the stage next with an amazing live set. I found myself hypnotized by his keyboard work and hung out by the front of the stage during his entire performance. My favorite of the day was Talamasca. A trance veteran and amazing perfomer, I am glad to see that in 10 years the music still makes him dance while working the equipment.
Up after Talamasca was Eskimo and no doubt a favorite among the crowd. His style was crazy, his stage performance excited and wild and his ability to pack a dance floor paralled by only the best names in the business.
The night closed off with DJ sets by Space Cat & DJ Lestat.
Although there were too many smiling faces to count, I did not see many of the usual faces who attend the Psytribe parties and was disappointed. Not for myself, but for those that chose not to come. Phantasm proved once again that they have the experience and professionalism to throw a party like no other in the LA scene. Was this the party of the year? Absolutely! At least until the next party!
Elephants are cool, but wooden ones are heavy. |

Glad to hear this party was cool... frankly, having the thread author posting as "Phantasm Records" without the "Record-Label Green" font made this party sound kind of suspect; I'm glad to hear that perception was incorrect and that everything was legit.
That is indeed a cool location, I've camped there in the past, and day parties there are a great idea. I hope to see more in the future...
