one bad party !! one of those u want to forget and fast !! the only good thing about it is that is cost 30 nis ! bad music !!! the generator fell about 10 times (!!!!!) there was no vibe what so ever and every attempt to make things right failed big time ! let's hope party's like this one won't happen again ! did i mention BAD music ? oh well better luck next week...

What? what was so bad about the party?
i had a good time, very nice party (imo), not a large crowd but still nice ppl. auspexx gave a great set! very hard music, psychedelic, a little different from what i'm used to but great music!
pixel also gave good music, it's a shame that blackin blackout was cut off couple of times because of the generator problems, that was the not so nice part of the party, the music was cut off many times.
well i think it was nice, not a big rave but still- good location, ppl, music, what more can i ask for??? |

i'll have to disagree with you green.
i think the party was great!
true, the generator fell many times BUT
* the people were nice (that guy with the harmonica was funny :-))
* the music was great, all three (the morning set was beautiful :-))
* one of the few parties which i got home with my shoes clean of dirt, sand etc.:-)
* the price, ohh the price
conclusion: for me, it was worth it, and it was very nice.
p.s. who was auspexx of the three? |

the second Dj one was auspexx (the one with the glasses on)...how can u say good music ?? there were all kinds of wierd mtv remixes (hot night summer in the city) (sweet dreams) and all kinds of wierd tracks... the place is great and i have known it 4 a long time becuase i mayself thru a party there..infact that was one of the problems there were two party's that were planned for the same night and the same place one was the "Friend's Party" and the other one just a party with (club/house/mtv) music at around 6pm the organizers of the "friends party" came to place only to find the place was taken !! so they made an agreement to unite both party's (wich explains the mixed crowd and the smoke machine + disco lights) ! instead of having 5-6 UV lamps there was a cheesy light ball ! and a flicker ? ? ? which was prob' the reason the generator fell all the time ! didn't like this one at all,but im glad u guys had fun !!

well, about the djs- now i really don't know who is who!
there was this one guy with glasses on, he played minimal music, didn't like his style.
After him came up the guy with the long hair and black jacket (auspexx?) who played great music, and then came up pixel (i think because he played blackin blackout) and his music was great too.
sorry you didn't have a good time green. |

I thought I will not reply in this thread, but here it is lads:
Thank you for your honest oppinions. I feel wierd about this party myself, since it was supposed to be something completely different (see Mr.Green explanation).
1. Generator problems prevent DJs from building up a set proppersly. You play 2-3 tracks and the music stops, you have to start everything all over again.
2. Mr.Green, if you're looking for full-on Karahana in the middle of the night, then I agree I'm not the DJ for you. I had enough sets where I was forced to play this style in these hours and believe me, I had enough. Night is a time to dig, roll and build the tenssion towards the morning.
3. The croud was very nice (IMHO), quite young people (at least for me), but cute ppl nevertheless. Although it was completely unexpected (the ppl), I felt that this croud was digging well.
All in all, this party was not what I was told about; Nevertheless, if you take down the Generator issue I enjoyed playing there to people I would not normaly play to (Karahana ppl), I can see that at least some enjoyed it.

First played a guy called Ben, then at about 2:30 I started (the guy with glasses in black - the one U didn't like). After me came this guy pini (long hair), and I guess after him cam eli (pixel), but at pini's set I had to split - morning music at 3:30 makes me cranky.
(I also had to get up with my son at 8:00, just for you young people attention). |

Auspexx 10q 4 your replay i didn't think u will answer. your music was fine (at some points) and the last thing i want to say about a dj is that he was louzy. infact now that i think of it the genartor was the main thing that ruined your set 4 me (and that's not your fault !) so ill guess next time will be better ! and you are right about morning toons beings played at 3 am ! it sucked !

Green, you just wrote that you don't like minimal progressive music, so stay honest. if you want some backstage info, I told the organizer of the party that with the crowd she's aiming for maube it's better that I don't play, but she insisted. Getting the crowd to dance is a very narrow road - you can start with Hux-Flux tracks and break the dancefloor after 5 minutes, or you can slowly build the atmosphere so people can get their chemicals boiling and remain fresh for the hightlight of the party - morning.
I'm a night DJ, I know my place and don't try to overcome the rest of the DJs. Many DJs I've played with think its a popularity contest. It's not. What matters is not who's more slamming DJ, but the whole party. How would you feel if I came and blasted the middle of the night and after me the DJ would play weaker stuff? think about it. Next time you go to a party, take my words with you , you'll have much more fun (IMHO).

but i do like minimal progressive music (i never said i didn't) infact i listen to it more then i listen to full on...
that party was wierd... nothing sounded right 4 me.And what i said is just to make sure that people wont think i said u r a bad Dj or something.

Good DJ, Bad DJ...What matters is that this party wasn't what we all expected. I did like the young kids though (girls mostly...).
One more thing, do you recall the last track I played (after the electricity fell for the 10x time), with the sample like "This is grass...You mean Marihuana?...Lord have mercy is that what it is?..." and guitar samples. quite a forward track. Reviews please... |
