You misunderstood me...I know there is no freeze function but there is a way to achieve the same thing, just with more steps...

in logic, it's bounce
in Sx, it's mixdown

that's it.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Basicaly-you bounce a MIDI channel to an audio, but in background. Each VSTi has a "Freeze" button in the VSTi pannel. You can also "unFreeze" the channel if you want to make changes to the MIDI...all this to save some CPU!!!(Correct me if I am wrong)

no freeze in logic 5.x (pc version)
look no further
http://www.fxfreeze.com/

incidentally this is the company from whom both steinberg and emagic has licensed the freeze function found in sx and logic 6.x, so odds are that it should work quite good. haven´t had much time to test it myself, but would like to hear of anybody who has tried it out.           Mastering available here:

i dont really understand this freeze in SX2, cuz if i wanna freeze a vsti, it takes 10 minutes, while bouncing takes only a few mins....

is there any way to freeze only a part of the track (maybe just where i have midi for that vsti)?
