Shiva Chandra is Daniel Vernunft and was born in November 1972 in Hamburg. As he was involved with making music his whole life, he started to make trance in the beginning of the 1990's. His main project is Shiva Chandra. He has intelligently developed his own very independent trance style by taking acoustic samples and integrating them in a homogenous, complete music, launching the minimal progressive βHamburg Styleβ. Since 1996 Daniel Vernunft has released with different labels and pseudonyms. With over 70 tracks he is continiously working on his project "Shiva Chandra" with seven albums released to date. He played at various and all important international events, with great response. He worked together with artists like Boris Blenn aka Electric Universe, dj Mapusa Mapusa ("Auricular" projekt), Dominic Sangeet (Planet Inspiration), DJ Magical and DJ Philipp (Prime Time Plastix) and other artists. He has also composed music for several short films, commercials and different projects. In Summer 2003 the 6th Shiva Chandra album called "subsonic" has been released. In November 2004 the second album of Auricular-(time) has been released.The 7th. and latest album of Shiva Chandra (change of air) was released on Sinn-Tec -Recordings in August 2005. Regarding to the new productions he worked out some new creative tracks, changing his style to electro with a touch of house.
DJ Magical is an integral part of the north German Psytrance, or Goa scene for many years. No doubt, he is one of the best psychedelic Progressive DJ's Germany has to offer, but Magical is so much more: activist, organiser, talent scout, helping hand ... And recently he's also spending a lot of time in the studio with his live partner DJ Fabio, working on their project FM's debut album. Expect a progressive burner album to be released in 2007, several tracks on compilations and a number of FM live gigs starting in summer 2005 have already raised a lot of attention for the duo.
For more than 12 years now the blonde energetic German has its place behind the decks of the psychedelic party scene, 12 years that tought him exactly how to catch the vibe from the dance floor and feel what the crowd needs - and when. Magical is one of the rare artists of his qualities whom you might meet right on the dance floor partying, some time when he's not spinning the tunes or working the faders alongside Fabio. Producing tracks in the studio is something, Magical has done with a number of other artists as well over the last years, such as Shiva Chandra, Symphonix, Ouja (Marco and McCoy of S.U.N. Project), Planet B.E.N....
Not only in and around Hamburg people love Magical's sets, playing at every bigger German festival even for several times - VooV Experience, Antaris Project, Indian Spirit, Waldfrieden Wonderland, Tshitraka ... - he has developed into one of the country's best known Psy DJ's. But recently Magical's German fans have to spend more and more weekends without him, as the number of his bookings in other countries is rising.
Magical is a party organizer as well, with his annual Area 51 that started 2000 being one of the biggest and most popular indoor parties in Hamburg, the Trance city. Magical's own "Area 51" compilation series once originated from those parties, of course. By now the compilations are released on the Japanese/German label Planet B.E.N. Records, the latest one, the fourth came out in November 2005. And there certainly will be more "Area 51" compilations. So you'd better stay tuned, if you'd like to take some of the magic tracks from the 34year old's secret collection home with you. Magical used to work as A&R manager at Jum Jam Records in the past, and has become the Planet B.E.N. Records Progressive A&R over the last two years, taking care of the more fluffy tunes, integrating this musical style in the label's output, which is mainly concentrating on Full on psychedelic stuff.
Benni Moon is currently living in Hamburg and spinning Music since 1999. His introduction into electronic music and his interest therefor started at the VooV Experience in 1996.
Three years later in the early 1999βs he began to spin vinyl himself and to organize own events. He improved his mixing skills pretty fast in the following years. Because of his very own style and the impressive mixing skills, he got booked for bigger events and festivals in Germany. He formed the Somnambul event in the late 1999's which had 200 people in the beginning and developed to one of the biggest indoor events in Hamburg. From 2001 to 2006 Benni was working as an A&R for the label OV-Silence Records and took care of the promotion as well as collecting sound. But since 2007 he's spinning music for the label Spintwist Records, which is located in nothern germany. Besides Benni belongs to the founders of the Hamburg based Label Glamour Studios.
