I honestly can't see how you think ZL and FG are so similar. The Subliminal Message and Edible Technique albums have a tottttallly different sound to them, I find Frozen Ghost to have a far more goofy/R.L. Stine's Goosebumps feel to it, a distinctly dark but definitely nostalgic sound while Zion Linguist definitely has a more mechnical almost steampunk thing going.
I think both those artists have such a distinct style that while I'd be able to recognize one of their tracks I definitely wouldn't confuse them.
Granted, I haven't heard much Xatrix, but Lost & Found and Multistate are also doing things very differently, their stuff is psychedelic in such a high-tech, contemporary way.
Parana is unlike any other SA act.
Damage is Damage.
Rubix Qube is far from the peak of his career but has already released stuff that overshadow tracks from well known producers.
Hydraglyph has a definite, almost Hollywood touch to their productions, also very unique.
Artifakt? Hardly any other producers in the world have the same unique style as Artifakt.
And wait till you've seen Smugg Juggler live.
EMP, Aggitated, Deleriant and other new acts that definitely don't sound the same... I wont waste time with Slug, Shift and Rabdom L because they've pretty much been around too long and had too much of an impact to be labeled as unoriginal.
MMD are rightfully in the spotlight lately but you really can't complain that the artists on and associated with a label sound too similar. They're meant to have the MMD edge and sound, that's what's made the label so stellar.
All in all, maybe I'm being pretty bias, but I figure that Psytrance is definitely one of the best things to come out of this country and I'm pretty proud of it.
(Oh, and Rinkadink...If you'd grown up here watching K-TV Saturday morning cartoons, you'd know exactly what Rinkadink is all about.  ) |

but on the plus side if it wasn`t for all of you defending the artists I just wouldn`t have an idea what trance REALLY is.
