Hello
I am young and when I see the pics of The Big Trance Demonstration in 1998 , it make me feel something special . . .
Many ppl come to dance for freedom in the trance scene in Isreal ! Chance La Trance
Pics here : http://www.isratrance.com/www/party_gallery/show_pics.php?p_id=66

So , my question is what u think this demonstration did to the trance scene ? good or bad ? what is the influences of this demonstration ?
It's really intersting me to know...

Thanx in advance

i remember astral projection and a few other names being on stage, i think sandman and oforia.. dont remeber the rest. i was pretty cool to have a massive (legal) trance party in the middle of tel aviv - was it 98 or 99?

it was a time in israel were cops were having a hard-on from closing parties, it was the thing to do since trance was sort of exploding... it was a natural civil reaction to the authorities.
did it do any good? not sure if it did or didnt do anything... i guess anything for trance in a positive way like that was, is good. depends what the goal is... are you doing some report on this guy?

Just amazing being with everyone in the square.
Not only trance people, people from all over...
Didn't matter the "Shimonim" or Arsim... back then it didnt matter...
Maybe it did but not to us anyway... it was an amazing thing and in the fucking center of tel-aviv!

The demonstration had practicaly no effect. It was ignored by everyone outside the trance scene, so the police, the government and the press didn't bother with it.
It was hardly mentioned in the press afterwards, so it had no impact.

sad

maybe it's time for another one of those...

I think it made an impact by having all these people in the square dancing to psy trance in the middle of the city.
Nothing like this as happend before and nothing like this happened since.
but It had no impact afterwards thats right and i really think it's time for another demonstration like this

The only way to change things in Israel and in many other countries who have major trouble with trance versus the Authorities is to democratically vote out the Politicians and change the laws... But that's not likely to happen

But another one day Festival like that would be great (at least just to show the finger to the Authorities..lol)... But I doubt it would be as magical as the old one. Repeating such a thing is impossible.

I don't think it will be impossible as you say.
It will be different & different is good
It's about liberating this genre of music from the stereotype it's got for being a drug relaited movment.
And to show the very unfriendly police that we will always keep grooving

even so, no one is hurting anyone.
I dont see people fighting in psy trance parties, i see people fighting in bars/pubs when drinking alcohol, i dont see date rape drugs being consumed in an outdoor party, i see date rape drugs in clubs.
my point is that an hippi taking some acid and smoking a chillum doesnt hurt anyone...

no but you see a lot of freaks openly on heavy drugs This scene is not so smart when it come to hide that we do drugs... and therefore the Authorities hit us harder.. because we simply promote our drug use a bit too much
