FLAC is the future.
Hell, LAME --alt-preset-standard is the only proper way to encode MP3s yet only a small minority of files on P2P networks even use VBR. This is 2005!

.Wav cannot be changed , its the audio data standard.

Well I dont have any opinion about this but I dont see why it is a bad topic. www.resonantearth.com sells music in FLAC format so i think it is relevant question.
