Well, FL Studio does than no other music software company does. When you buy a version, you buy all versions for life, so if you just purchase the producer version once you'll have free updates for live (and you can install a fresh updated version instead of just patching).
So, 1000$ for a lifetime subscription to the "bread and butter" of a company is actually a great give-away

Ok i'm a minority here if you all have bought the original. I guess for me even 200$ for this is far too much. I want to switch to a different daw(i'm not satisfied with FL). I'm going to try Ableton now instead hope its not as buggy as people say

Regarding Ableton live, I say the 9.0 version is very buggy, if you want it to be more stable go for the 9.1 version, or go back to 8.4.
