is there anyone here, that has ever been to a "Big Chill" party (England) ever? I was doing some research about history of chillout, and that came out to be the first chill fest of all, and it's been still going on now with a crowd of 30.000+ people since 1994. That must be something huge huh?
anyone? any info?

I've never got around to going - the Big Chill is quite an upmarket festival & does atract lots of trendy London media type folk - but every I know who has been or played has really enjoyed it - you can get more info at

I've played at The Big Chill every year since 1994 .... and will be doing the closing set again this year. If you want to experience a wide range of chillout styles then no other event even comes close. (You ought to book soon, as tickets are nearly all sold!)

yeah. I wish I could go to every chill event around the globe but that seems a little impossible
I bought my ticket for Sonica 2006 so that's where I'm gonna be this year..
I've been asked to write a short history about chillout (where theres a whole section, only about Mixmaster Morris!!)
and another section about the Big Chill..
None of the other events around the world excites me as big chill.. So ;
I'm not gonna die before seeing that too (and hope to see Mixmaster Morris also)
Maybe next year.. who knows?.

The Sunrise celebration www.sunrisecelebration.com a UK festival that runs for 6 days up to the summer solstice on June 21st and is thought by some to be the solution to gap left by the legendary Stonehenge festival of years gone by. has an Impressive chill out organised by ID Spiral that runs though out the six days and looks like the who's who of Uk chillers.
