As Satori Said - here in Australia you would be lucky to even hear 1 dark set at a party, let alone a whole party dedicated to the genre |

Ah, awesome! I met him in a rather cool manner, actually. I was at Freqs of Nature with a bunch of close friends, one of them being a girl (Alicia) I know who stayed in Australia for two years. Dan knew her from her stay in Australia, and flew all the way from Australia to hang out and travel to multiple festivals in Europe with her. Anyway, I met him at Freqs and we got along really well.
After Freqs, I passed out at a friend's place in Berlin due to extreme fatigue (that's what 6 hours of sleep in 5 days does to you ;D ) and subsequently missed my flight. I decided to chill in Berlin for a few days after the festival, to see the place and meet up with Dan and Alicia.
Anyway, one night, after doing mushrooms and going to some aaaawesome labyrinth, we went back to one of Alicia's friends' places and chilled out. Dan mentioned that he had recently been made moderator of a sub-forum on the drugs website Bluelight.ru, so I told him about how I made some posts in the psytrance thread on said forum. Anyway, it turns out we'd chatted on that very thread (which, incidentally, he created), and I had actually told him to look out for me at the festival! Fucking mental. Really put into perspective how it can be such a small world, especially in the psytrance scene. It really is so well connected globally. Getting goose-bumps just thinking about that moment, heheh. |

there seems to be a lack of dark/ hi tech/forest psy parties in the U.S. It's great that artists like bodhi and cindervomit are keeping the subgenre's scene alive but parties are too few and far between. |
