These days normally all parties which happen have a huge line up of music which is either dark or forest lineups.

Not that it is bad however most of the other types of psy music have been ignored. Also many new artist who are releasing albums as have the dark or the forest sound. It is very rare to see any one playing Goa trance. If you are lucky then maybe boom or some other festivals.

Is Dark Psy killing it for all the genre of psy.
Mushrooms make you do crazy stuff. Look at Mario he jumps on animal heads and fights with dragons.

I just wish my time would have come back to organizing parties (95 was the last haha) I 'd throw an original goa party without any compromise of any other subgenre.Psychedelic goa acid trance no minimal umpa umpas no cheese no zombie squad just magic all night long.

did you ever passed a festival summer in europe???

if so you would know... just to name a few:
Germany:
Psychedelic Circus
Indian Spirit
(mainly progressive)

Switzerland:
Summer Never Ends
Bourning Montain festival
(only prog and fullon)

Belgium has a couple of mainly old school goa festivals in july and august...

Spain:
Transittion festival
(mainly fullon and prog)

Portugal:
most of the parties openair with fullon/progressive/ dark stages....

Turkey:
Tree of Life
(mainly prog and fullon)

i could go on with the list, so i would suggest you come over to europe.... June-september and you can choose every weekend from different styles/types/vibes....

Nowdays there is really something for everybody
and it all differs from country form country...
and i could go on like this,,,           to use your head you have to go out of your mind

I heard about that belgium events my friends were a few times already there. I hope to get there next summer atleast one time. Though a pity these times you have to leave germany to visit a real goa event.

What I've never have seen is a festival dedicated only to ambient music. This idea I got for years...not to organize one just to expirience one.. would be nice, could be floors tents of fields for psyambient (for dance etc), drones (for samadhi etc), accoustic ambient and what not I think this could be a great flying expirience.
If anyone knows some please point out

dude, most big european festival have dark at night only, daytime and evening is nowhere near that

here in israel actually there are hardly any dark parties at all (used to have them up until a year ago or so).

the majority of the parties here have at least one dj/artist playing goa trance, there are plenty of goa only parties - duno how it is outside israel tho...

im going to a 3 day festival in mexico on sunday, no dark there at all

i live in southern california and right now everything here is fucking full on and prog. we used to get deeper vibes but I think full on and prog is like the main scene right now across the world. in northern california however there are heavier vibes for sure. our festivals tho are never only "dark" and forest lineups. they are usually an equal amount of all or more full on and prog

Only festival I went to last year was Freqs of Nature, one dark stage, one not dark stage.

Truthfully, not too sure what's up with the U.S. scene. The Texas parties, which are few and far between, usually have a well rounded lineup. Some Timecode artists played in Austin last night, but I have no clue how that went.

I think Kindzadza is coming to Socal though, that should be fun.

There are major back to the roots Goa parties and festivals going on in many places with a lot of the old Goa artists from the 90's. In Japan, Israel, Portugal, Poland etc. But they are all promoted via Facebook. The last one I played at was in Israel (Elysium/Sheyba Live, Man With No Name, Tsyoshi etc.) and it had 3500-4000 people. The next one will be in Japan for 500-1000 people and Portugal with 20.000 +.

So it's all happening out there

Full on and prog have been hijacked by the candy ravers that didn't qualify to perform at the same event back in the days when psytrance was called goa trance...

Dark/forest is about the best your gonna get that keeps to the psychedelic roots of goa trance.. There are other genres beyond dark/forest that should be heard at events, one just needs to change their mental presets on the term dark...
