I don't really know much about them, but Ott plays something called a melodica which sounds real nice... I also enjoy the Danish sound wizards use of the theremin. Sitars, piano, real tribal drums, and acoustic guitar can all sound nice... I think psychedelic trance is at it's best when it is fused well with some "real-world" instruments. I think the Japanese group Uni did a great job on the album Venus with that concept - combining so many elements... the album should still be available from saiko - I highly recommend it!

I love the flute!, Sitars as well! and i also like tablas very much!
Etnic sounds are natural that's why they really go well with trance...i think!

Hey Vanessa!
Son Kite had a liveset for free download at their website earlier. I think they still got it available. Head over to http://www.sonkite.com ! Good luck, hope you'll find it.

All instruments are good, maybe flutes and Sitars are the more often used once.
