Very good, using it right now, but still has not that many Firefox Add-ons, which is what makes Firefox more special.

Since Beta 2 of Chrome, this is the speed-winner... Also, there have been some other updates. Best choise IMO.

yes its getting better I think I can finally move, but is there a way to have a lateral favorites bar?

Firefox can be altered to rip at higher speeds.
Try playing around with about:config in the address bar.
A web search on making firefox faster would also help
